Glengarry House is a friendly and comfortable Guest House situated between Crianlarich and Tyndrum where Loch Lomond, the Trossachs National Park and the breathtaking Scottish Highlands meet. Tyndrum is on the A82, the road North to Oban and Fort William. There are excellent facilities in the village including pub, restaurant, fish and chips cafe, petrol station, mini market, cash machines and two railway stations.
We are centrally located which makes Glengarry ideally situated for hiking, munros, cycle touring, canoeing, mountain biking, golfing and walking the West Highland Way (WHW). It is also an excellent base for touring by car or motorcycle. In addition to the B&B we have a separate self-catered lodge at the back of the house with panoramic views to the west.

Services
We have three guest rooms in the house, all of which are comfortable and homely. All rooms have Flatscreen TV's with FreeSat, hairdryers and fair-trade tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The whole house also has Wi-Fi internet access. All guest toiletries are environmentally friendly and naturewatch approved.
Our self catering lodge is situated in an elevated site behind Glengarry House; the surrounding views are fantastic and well worth the walk up the steps. Internally there is 1 kingsize bedroom, a twin bedroom, open plan living room & kitchen and a bathroom. It can comfortably sleep a family of 4. The Lodge is ideally situated for walking, munro bagging, cycle touring, canoeing, mountain biking, golfing, or just using as a base for touring around.
This long distance footpath that joins Glasgow and Fort William grows in popularity each year. So much so that by mid February you will find it hard to get accommodation in May so book early to avoid disappointment. Better still, miss the crowds and come in April instead it's much quieter and usually better weather!
Our meat comes from Jackson Brothers in Oban, and Comrie Butchers who supply fabulous quality, local, free range meat. Your egg at breakfast may well come from one of our "girls". We have very Free Range Chickens which probably greeted you on the doorstep when you arrived. In the busiest periods they can't quite keep up with demand so we top up with free range eggs from other local birds who are equally as happy as ours.
Oban (meaning The Little Bay) is a small town in the beautiful Firth of Lorn. It is 36 miles from Glengarry which will take about 50 mins to an hour by car. If you fancy a scenic train journey you can get on at Tyndrum Lower station and be dropped off in the centre of Oban.
Attractions in Oban include the Waterfront Centre, the Cathedral of St Columba, the Oban Distillery, Dunollie Castle, Dunstaffnage Castle and McCaig's Tower, which dominates the town's skyline.Oban is also an excellent base from which to explore the sights of Kilmartin Glen. Ben Cruachan, Hollow Mountain - deep inside Ben Cruachan on the shores of Loch Awe is Cruachan Power Station.

Lovely place to stop along the west highland way, the cycle path parallel to the road is the easiest way in and out of tyndrum even if it does mean crossing the road and stepping over an armco barrier (the route isn't on Google maps yet, but it's there). The laundry service was quick and reasonably priced.

We booked glengarry house as a stop on our walk along the west highland way. We turned up in the dark, tired and soaked through to the core. The reception we received really boosted our spirits. Our hostess fed us tea and cake. Then was good enough to ferry us to the pub as it was still pouring. which was hugely appreciated. The room had everything we needed and the beds were nice and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with lots to choose from including home made jams. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
