Services
Often difficult to navigate with its maze like feel, Soho in London's W1 is a grouping of streets bordered by Oxford Street in the North, Shaftesbury Avenue in the South, Regent Street in the West and Charing Cross in the East. Once a Royal Park in the heart of London, by the end of 19th century, Soho firmly established itself as a nightlife centre attracting artists, musicians and writers.
Before opening his London salon, The Lounge Soho, Joe Mills firmly established his cutting credentials. During the day he was snipping heads and building his reputation at Fish Hairdressing. By night, he was a regular on the club scene, moonlighting as a successful DJ and involved in running 'Sugar Candy', one of the biggest house nights at The Cross as well as nights at The End.
What training and experience have you had? I worked for Toni&Guy for 8 years which is where I got my qualification in hairdressing with a distinction. I then went on to work for the company Taylor Taylor as a Director in their Portobello Road salon. When did you first realise you wanted to be a hairdresser?
All services include a consultation, luxury shampoo, head massage and complementary bottled water. All salon services at The Lounge Soho London hairdressers, include a consultation, head massage, conditioner and finishing products. A complimentary drink of bottled water is included. Honestly one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a hair salon. The salon manager totally messed up my appointment and showed very little sympathy in their attempt to rectify the issues. I would strongly recommend going to somewhere like Moose or Manifesto where you will receive a solid well priced hair cut and/or colour by a team that truly cares and recognises how important someone’s hair is for their confidence and wellbeing.

Shaun has cut my hair for years, he’s the best. I have very wash-and-go lazy style and he cuts my hair with so much attention to detail so that it air dries perfectly. I’ll never see anyone else! Thank you Shaun!!

First time at The Lounge Soho today and I left the place super happy! Everyone was very nice, friendly and professional. The receptionist was absolutely lovely and the French stylist (unfortunately I don't remember his name, sorry!) was simply the best! 100% recommended. I'll definitely go back.

Super fun and friendly team, from the young woman on reception to the stylists. Bradley, was charming, he reassured me that my hair wasn't falling out, but simply damaged due to colour and heat treatment - and it being very long.
We agreed that it would be best to cut it to below my shoulders and he added a maganagable layer and soft new fringe.
It looks fresher and more youthful and I've have tons of compliments, will definitely be going back.

I've been going to The Lounge for years and couldn't change it for the world. Relaxed atmosphere with great people, Joe always cuts my hair but everyone is faultless. I have complete trust that my hair will look great every time I leave. Really nice selection of hair products used there also. Very reasonably priced unlike a lot of the other central hair dressers.

I came in first to see Michael, who did a fantastic job on my cut.

Unfortunately, we seemed to get our wires completely crossed on colour and I left quite unhappy. I actually cried about the colour when I got home and I've never actually done that before. Embarrassing. Ouch. He attempted to correct it at a second visit but things were still unfortunately nowhere near what I had wanted.

I spoke with Michelle, the fantastically attentive manager, throughout this and when the first correction failed, she finally put me in touch with Lottie, who has gotten me closer to my desired colour and

Michael styled my hair after I had just walked out of a bad experience at another salon. He was so attentive and understanding and he made my hair look 100% better. The other salon had not even bothered to finish drying it. I should've taken a before and after photo because he did a great job!

I don't like to change my hairdresser because I have high expectations and do not accept any compromises about how I look. Yet, sometimes the circumstances makes you act unexpected like the day I decided to trust this hair salon. The hairdresser were experienced and competent enough to propose a new hairstyle to me which I actually liked very much.

I found this place on Qype when I needed a last minute haircut which I hadn't had time to book. I arrived fairly early and, considering I had sent no notice, was sorted very promptly. Very friendly staff and a good range of complimentary drinks available. The stylist was very good at working out/helping me get across what I wanted (which has been a problem elsewhere) and I was very happy with the end result. The only place where the experience fell down slightly was the chat but then I wasn't at my prime and in the end it's the cut you have to live with once you leave. Would certainly

So I just popped in here for a cheeky fringe trim with my favourite stylist Liga. Distinctive and full of sass, she whipped my bangs into a desired blunt shape in 12 minutes flat. A consummate professional, Liga and the team bring a spot of class to the back streets of Berwick. Easily the most grass roots, reasonably priced salon in Salon. Booyah!

I wanted a change of scene, so I chose here after looking at the reviews. Shop itself is nice but haircut just didnt cut the mustard - I think it is much better for men than women. I got a bowlcut and will be going elsewhere to fix the mess.

I've gotten several really great haircuts here. They're pretty decently priced, especially for London, and I've never walked out disappointed. My hairdresser, whose name I have forgotten yet again but is a lovely scottish guy, is amazing and really works with my curly mess of locks. He also always takes the time to blow out my seriously long hair and do 'adjustments' on it when its dry.

Plus, they do offer a mid-week discount for students (I think of 10%), which is a pretty nice bonus.

I searched for a small, quaint, quality salon with a local feel while visiting London recently and this seem to fit my personality. Very comfy, and accommodating. It has been a few weeks and I hate to admit it, but I have forgotten the name of the lovely woman who did an amazing job on my hair. She understood what I was explaining and gave me a refreshing modern look with some subtle yet bright blond highlights. I have had my hair cut since and certainly missing the cut she gave me.

I love this salon. I've been going here regularly since November, and have never once been disappointed. I'm considering getting my hair coloured and can't think of a place I'd trust more. Not only do they provide great haircuts, but the conditioning treatments are truly luxurious. They also have massage chairs, complimentary drinks (love that glass of wine!) and cookies, and a surprisingly good stack of magazines (very important). The only drawback is the price, which is why I may be waiting some time to get my hair coloured

This has become my regular place over the last year. Located in the middle of Soho it seems to have a really eclectic customer base. It feels trendy and fashionable yet at the same time friendly and relaxed. I don't feel that I need to be one of the glamorous people to have my hair done here, but I think I am mixing with those who are!

After a brief friendly consultation, you go downstairs for the hair wash, which includes head massage, and if you want it, the massage chair. All the while you gaze up at great but bizarre mug shots.

Back upstairs the for the main event - whilst listening

Great for guys hair as well. Like a previous reviewer, I found this via a Google search and wasn't disappointed. You're given a free drink when you enter and the price includes a head massage and a spot on one of their vibrating massage chairs whilst you're having your hair washed.

Little details, like the black and white mugshots of criminals on the ceiling round it off nicely. I've had a couple of stylists, who have all been great, and have never had a problem getting an appointment at short notice (the day before, even).

I've been here twice. I found it on google following the need to make a last minute appointment and my previous hairdresser not being able to take me. I thought my old hairdressers was nice but I wasn't totally fulfilled, it wasn't until I visited the lounge when I realised this is what I needed - a salon with energy and I leave feeling special.

The first time I got the owner which was purely my chance as he'd had a cancellation, I guess I was honoured as its difficult to get an appointment with him! The cut was great, atmosphere was professional, salon environment was down

Wonderful salon, a real find in the back streets of grubby Soho! Great atmosphere, friendly stylists and nice extras (free wine!). Loved the new look that was suggested to me and went for the whole lot, colour and cut. Was not dissapointed, fresh and fashionable without being too edgy. I will be back for sure:) Oh, you can aslo book online and view thier stylists work on their website!
