Miriam Walker Acupuncture
Operating from a fully equipped and comfortable clinic in Camberley, I operate flexible hours, as many of my clients are restricted by work or family commitments during the working week. On my site you can find out about the history and value of acupuncture and see my approach to treatment and pricing.

I trained professionally at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and am a member of the British Acupuncture Council. I received an Honours Degree in Acupuncture from Portsmouth University in 2005 and regularly attend acupuncture courses to continue my professional development.
Services
Acupuncture treatment usually consists of ultra-fine needles being inserted in specific acupuncture points and left for 20-30mins. Treatments may also be supplemented with heat, cupping, moxibustion or electro-acupuncture. These are used to enhance stimulation of the body's qi and if this is necessary for your treatment, a full explanation of the techniques will be given before proceeding.
At the initial consultation, a detailed history will be taken (for which it will be helpful to bring details of all medications currently prescribed), before any treatment is given. Acupuncture treatment consists of ultra-fine needles being inserted in specific acupuncture points and left for 20-30mins.
Yes, all needles are pre-sterilised and disposable. The Code of Safe Practice is observed at all times during treatments. These guidelines have been set by the British Acupuncture Council and can be downloaded from their website at www.acupuncture.org.uk. You may feel a 'tingly' or numb sensation after the needles have been inserted, but it is not the same as injections or blood tests, as the acupuncture needles are very fine.
