The Pitter family has been trading from its current premises located in West End, Southampton since 1915, starting with the introduction of a horse and cart. Those years and a succesion of Pitter generations have amassed a vast and competent knowledge of the transport industry.
Pitter Self Drive offer a choice of flexible self drive hire packages at competitive rates designed to meet all your personal or business needs. More and more local businesses are recognising that ownership of vehicles is not the important factor, and it is far more cost effective for the business to pay for the use, which the business makes of those vehicles.

An optional, but recommended, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) can be selected at booking/collection. CDW reduces the excess liability from 1000 down to 150 for Vans, 250 for Cars & Trucks & 500 for Minibuses.

A current full driving licence must be produced by all hirers at the commencement of each and every hire. You must be between the ages of 25 - 75 years for cars & Campervans, 21 - 75 years for vans & trucks, 30 - 70 years for 9 & 17 Seat Minibuses, a regular driver and in good health. Age restrictions apply as follows.

The vehicle was fine, however, the manner of the bloke who dealt with me was more like that of a police person who was questioning me about some offence I’d never committed…. ! Also, I was not pleased about their £5 per litre charge for returning a vehicle with less in the tank than it came with…. I actually returned it with more fuel than it came with, doubt they offer a reciprocal arrangement!? Won’t be hiring from them again.

Good service received from start to finish from reception to inspecting the vehicle beforehand and copies of documents.
Vehicle as required and received clean and tidy in and out. Rate also better than most other vehicle hires out there. Also security available for out of hours return of vehicle.
Have used Pitters previously and will more then likely again in future if a van is required.

Pitter self drive were fantastic. The whole process is so easy and stress free, the staff are friendly and helpful and the vehicles themselves have useful features such as parking sensors to help people unfamiliar with larger vehicles. Also 24 hour drop off so theres no rushing to get back at certain times.

We’ve used Pitters a few times now, both times to move house. We hired a Luton van Both times (having the tail lift makes moving house so much easier), each time it was always ready when for us to collect at the allotted time, always had a full tank of fuel, always clean and tidy and the service / greeting from the staff was always friendly and helpful. Will definitely be using them again in the future. Thanks guys.
