The ancient art of Ornamental Plastering is thought to have been first used by The Romans to decorate the interiors and exteriors of buildings as they created the Roman Empire. The versatility and beauty of the art of ornamental plastering has been used through the centuries to decorate some of the world's most impressive architecture, including government buildings, theatres, museums and stately homes.
At John Boyce Plasterwork we pride ourselves in covering every aspect of the plastering trade. We can take your project from start to finish and with over 25 years experience are confident in delivering your project on time and on budget. The supply and fix of new Cornice, Ceiling roses, Arches, Columns, Corbels etc from our range of stock mouldings.
At John Boyce Plasterwork we are able to carefully and painstakingly remove years of paint and lime wash from your cornice or ceiling rose to reveal amazing detail missing and unseen for years. We use steamers to gently soften existing paints and lime washes and carefully pick out by hand years of paint build up with amazing results.
This elegant Victorian building once the luxurious Clifton Downs Hotel was successfully turned into a series of luxury apartments. On this project we installed 100s of meters of new cornices to all apartments, skillfully copied large cornices to match existing especially in the old former ballroom and carried out numerous repairs to existing plasterwork as building work progressed.
This large Victorian home in Clifton Bristol was being used as offices until it was brought and converted back to a fine family home. The largest part of our contact was replacing the kitchen and snug cornices which were deemed lost forever apart from a few fragments of the old elaborate existing cornice.
