After leaving school, I worked for a few years in traditional branch banking and H.M. Revenue & Customs which gave me a very good grounding in finance and taxation. In 1989, I joined a firm of solicitors in Central London and over the next 27 years, as a Probate & Trust Manager, I gained extensive experience in all aspects of what solicitors call Private Client work, namely Probate & Estates, Wills, Powers of Attorney and Trust administration.

If you need help with Probate & Estates, Wills or Powers of Attorney, please call me for a no obligation discussion about the services I offer.
Services
Without a will, your estate will not necessarily go to whom you wish, yet research indicates that two-thirds of adults in the UK have not made a will. You are not married to your partner but have children. All of your estate will pass to your children and your partner may have to make a formal legal claim against the estate for financial support.
When someone dies, it is usually necessary to apply to the Court for a Grant of Probate in order to deal with (administer) his or her estate and distribute it to the beneficiaries named in the will. Applying for a Grant of Probate need not be particularly difficult, although if you are unfamiliar with the forms or tired after being out at work all day, it can seem quite daunting.
What happens if you are no longer able to deal with your financial affairs or make decisions about your care due to mental or physical incapacity? Without a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) in place, a relative or friend will have to apply to the Court of Protection for a Deputyship Order.

However, not only can this take quite some time, during which no one is able to look after your affairs, but it costs far more than LPAs (the application fee is 400 instead of 82 for an LPA).In addition, your Deputy has to keep detailed accounts and send reports to the Office of the Public Guardian each year and there is also an annual supervision fee.
Although I have over 30 years' experience dealing with Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probate and Estates, I can charge far less than a firm of solicitors for this type of work because I don't have expensive offices or support staff (secretaries, accounts personnel etc.) to maintain.

I can also usually produce the Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney or Probate papers a lot quicker than solicitors and I am happy to visit you at home at your convenience - even if that means evenings or weekends - at no extra charge. You will get the same discretion and professionalism from me that you would get from a good firm of solicitors, but at a fraction of the cost.

David was highly recommended to me after completing a Power of Attorney job for a relative.
I was absolutely delighted with his friendly professional advice in completing two Wills.
He is so easy to talk to and even gave me advice on unconnected matters and I can't believe what great value he was, what a nice guy.

Having reached a point where I no longer knew what to do, David quickly, and professionally dealt with the property part of my mothers estate. He explained things clearly, and efficiently dealt with those horrible, lengthy, legal forms from Land Registry. David also helped us write our wills. His excellent advice was sensitive and practical. His charges were very reasonable. I have no hesitation in recommending David Price and thank him sincerely for his support through this difficult time.
