Originally Andover Self Drive started life as a franchised branch of Kennings Car and Van Rental in 1989. John Ford managed the modest fleet of 15 vehicles, operating from a single site near the Andover railway station. John was already well known and respected within the local community and had been in business in Andover for many years, starting as the owner and manager of the Bere Hill House Hotel, now known as the Quality Hotel.

This depends on what categories are on your driving licence. Everybody should have the entitlement to drive vehicles up to 3500kg GVW with up to 8 passenger seats apart from those holding a provisional license. If you want to hire a 7.5ton Truck, you must hold category C1 on your license. Category B includes Cars, 4x4's, MPV's and Light Commercial Vehicles up to and including a maximum weight of 3,500kgs and no more than 8 passenger seats.

Have used these guys before and it's always been a good experience. Prices are quite reasonable and the vehicles are Clean and tidy. I had an long wheelbase transit type van which was a lovely van to drive. YES I will use again as and when I need them. Great company to deal with

I recently hire van from here. I was looking for small van but there was not available so they offer me big van but I just need to pay small van price. Easy online booking system. On arrival I was greeted by a nice friendly team, my paperwork was processed quickly and I was shown to my hire van that was almost new. It was really clean both cab area and externally. The back was spotless which was ideal for what I was transporting. Compared with some of the mechanical, grubby old nails of vans I have hired from other companies, it was a pleasure to drive. Well done to all the team at Andover Self Drive, will certainly use you again when the need arises!
