At Howard and Howard we can trace our roots back to 1888 and we are still to this day, a family run business based in the heart of Shrewsbury. We operate from two retail sites in Radbrook and Battlefield Enterprise Park as well as numerous agents as far afield as Hereford.

Dry Cleaning is believed to have originated in ancient Rome, where ammonia was used to clean woollen Togas, fast forward to the 19th century where Jean Baptiste Jolly "discovered" that petroleum based solvents provided a superb clean after his maid spilt kerosine on his table cloth. He went on to develop a service for cleaning peoples clothes in the same manner, naming it "nettoyage a sec" translated to: dry cleaning.
This is where it all started many years ago, and like our dry cleaning, we have kept many of the original processes that make our laundry second to none. Our Laundry facilities are open to both the public and trade, from personal service washes to corporate table linen; we have the facilities and experience to process it all.
At Howard and Howard we understand that your wedding dress is one of your most prized possessions, that is why we have implemented our Eight Point Cleaning System. Photograph - Photographs are taken of the dress when first recieved at the factory to ensure that the dress is finished correctly and any marks, damage and wear are not missed.
At Howard and Howard we process Curtains, Duvets and Rugs on a daily basis, through our history we have seen nearly everything and because of this we pride ourselves on our cleaning process for all manner of furnishings. We can refresh curtains, duvets and furnishings so the colour is given a renewed vibrancy and their life extended.
