In the field of HVAC and Refrigeration many independent contractors in the UK provide excellent services and highly competitive pricing for standard jobs using off-the-shelf heating and refrigeration equipment backed by tried and tested engineering methods. Yet, if a requirement arises in the UK that doesn't quite fit in with the standard, many small outfits can't afford to carry in-house resources with the knowledge and experience for custom design and solution development.
As UK based HVAC and Refrigeration Consultants, we can provide designs, drawings and equipment specifications based on reliable technical calculations for one-off special HVAC projects whenever your firm needs cost effective and technically compliant solutions'.

Services
An experienced heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration design consultant can be likened to a large mobile crane; expensive to buy but affordable to hire. This has been the foundation principle upon which A C & R Consultancy has been operating since it was established in 1995. End users and contractors alike make as much or as little use of available services as and when they need expert and reliable help.
The pasteurising process was causing a bottle-neck in production due to the time taken for the bottles to cool before caps could be fitted and the product could move on to dispatch. The client realised that some form of rapid cooling was necessary and commissioned us to come up with a solution.
The obvious answer was a large mechanical cooling plant, which would have increased running cost significantly quite apart from increasing environmental impact. Our solution was based on adiabatic cooling, the introduction of potable water in the form of atomised spray and a fan. Water in contact with the bottles carried in filtered air would evaporate and in doing so absorb the latent heat of vaporisation from the bottles and their contents.

Computer Aided Design (CAD) is, we believe, an essential tool in the development and delivery of a concise and properly thought-out building design. Our Building Services package includes both 2D and 3D modelling to enable an appropriate degree of visualisation of a building and its associated services through draughting design to confirm the practical implementation of those building plans.
This is a case study of a domestic application included with the kind permission of Nu-Heat of Honiton, who were responsible for executing the contract. AC & R Consultancy played a small part in the concept of this application to provide space and water heating for a barn conversion to a domestic dwelling.
AC&R recently specified two EcoStar oil condensing boilers from MHG Heating, in a cascade configuration, to provide heating for the administration block at Fawley Power Station in Hampshire. The specification also included a pressure manager, expansion vessel, header assemblies and weather compensation controls from MHG.
