I chose not to own a car several years ago and have hired regularly here since. I have never had any problems at all and have found the service friendly and professional. I would recommend them to everyone. Its nice to be able to hire different size vehicles to suit your needs. I'm thinking of trying an electric vehicle next.

What a brilliant van hire company based in Cambridge. My van, a VW Transporter similar to a transit, was very low mileage, really clean and drove without fault. The service I received from the staff was friendly and helpful and on top of this the price for 4 days was way lower than the competitors.
This is a classic example of a small family owned independent business knocking the spots off the big nationals. Thank you.

I decided to hire an electric car to see how I got on with one. Cambridge Car And Van Rental were the only place to offer this type of vehicle in the area. I was a bit apprehensive but the advice I was given was extremely helpful and I was given a comprehensive show round the car and explanation of the controls etc. All round an enjoyable experience.

Booked plenty in advance. But three days before pickup, we got told there was a fault with the van we'd booked. They did offer an alternative, but it was too small for what we wanted. So in the end there was no choice but to cancel and get refunded. We had a hard time finding an alternative at such short notice.
Opening hours are a quite restrictive, you cannot pick up after 4pm. So if you are working you need to get there before 9am... And because they are closed on Sunday, if you want something for the Saturday only, you have to pay for two days' rental.

Great cars and really efficient, personal, and friendly service. I've been renting a car at least once a month for a good while now and have never had a bad experience. Great that they update the fleet regularly so the cars are always excellent. A really good local independent that's big enough to offer lots of flexibility but hasn't lost the personal element.
