Peak Oak
This is the perfect floor for almost all renovation projects, barn conversions and older family homes where you would like some character but still need a more uniform look than barn grade oak provides. Solid oak flooring has been a staple in homes down the ages and was probably used by the very first peoples to settle in Europe.

It's not surprising really, when you think about how durable, easy to work and downright beautiful solid oak can be. Oak has been used to make doors for millennia and at Peak Oak, we continue the tradition, supplying solid oak doors in kit form or made to measure. We're now one of the leading suppliers of oak ledge and brace doors in the UK and as a result, sheer volume means we can keep our prices low and our quality high.
Services
Our solid oak flooring is all European oak and comes in 8 grades, ranging from barn grade through to quarter sawn. Engineered oak flooring is essentially a veneer of solid oak bonded to a hardwood ply backing to form a floor board almost indistinguishable from a solid oak board once laid. As with our solid oak flooring, the machining precision of our engineered boards is top notch, providing you with a smooth, even floor.

In the days of yore, most of the flooring would have been green oak and installed at the same time as the construction of the dwelling, but over time, air drying and kiln drying became more popular as understanding of the properties of oak grew. These days, all solid oak flooring is kiln dried to a moisture content of between 8% and 12% to minimise movement in the wood as humidity levels change.

We found Peak Oak on the internet. We traveled for several hours to get there. But what a lovely helpful family business. They had exactly the quality of solid oak floorboards we required and have given us real sound advice on the installation and even a fitter to install our new floors. Loved the farm, so clean and tidy and a fantastic showroom to guide customers on the type of wooden floors they can provide. Thanks to Adrian for all his help and knowledgeable advise.

Great Oak flooring and skirting. Really high quality cutting of the tongue and groove so fitting with spax screws was easy. I got the character oak which was exactly what I wanted in terms of interesting grain and patterns. The planks were all over 2 metres which is the big plus over nearly every other supplier that slips in loads of 1.2 m or less lengths, so I hardly had any waste pieces. I would ring up and talk through your needs so you get good advice on finishes, sealants and fixing.
