Born and raised in Hertfordshire, I have over twenty five years experience working in the carpentry and joinery sector. I studied at Letchworth Building College where I gained both NVQ level 1 and 2 qualifications. This has allowed me to acquire, alongside my carpentry and joinery knowledge, the ability to practise specialist skills such as design and planning, veneering, laminating and finishing with polishes, lacquers and paints.
I am dedicated to my trade and have a passion for the craft which allows me to achieve the professional finish my customers expect and demand, winning me repeat business from clients with countless recommendations.

Services
I am located in the small village of Barkway, near Royston, in Hertfordshire. As a business I cover a wide area which includes, but is not limited to, the counties of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex and the conservation area of Bedford Park in Chiswick. My joinery workshop specialises in individual commissions, covering made to measure joinery and cabinet making to a high personal/professional standard.
Like many people in the carpentry/joinery trade, I am aware of the damage caused to the environment by deforestation, the use of certain tropical woods and the application of various chemical based lacquers and adhesives.
Progress has been made though, with timbers now readily available with a Forestry Stewardship Council stamp (FSC) in addition to a certificate which ensures the customer that the timber has been responsibly harvested, instead of cleared, whilst providing work for the local townships from its origin at a fair trade level and maintaining a healthy balance for wildlife and future growth.

Many aspects of joinery go hand in hand with the supply and installation of glass products, be it high performance triple glazed insulated units for exterior glazed doors, windows and roofs to replacement picture frame glass protecting a family heirloom, over the years I have been finding it more and more essential (and interesting) to gain knowledge and skills in the supply of glass, mirrors and glazing products, Iain Flack Joinery can now confidently offer a full range of services in this sector.
What can I say except that Iain is fantastic. As a joiner, he brings excellent service and beautiful craftsmanship, but you also get friendliness and humour, great advice and the feeling that he cares about the project as much as you do. Iain has repaired or replaced almost all of the (very old and very damaged) windows in my Grade II listed property, as well as French doors, and fitted a new front door.
