Play-a-Way Childcare Centre is an award winning leader in childcare provision in Newtownards and North Down. We operate a Pre-School and Playgroup facility at the Church of God, Zion Place, Newtownards. Play-a-way Childcare Centre operates as a community business designed to create affordable, quality childcare that provides a stimulating and safe environment for children.
The business was established to respond to a growing need for quality childcare in our area. The affordability of childcare places at our Centre also allows families on low income to work part time jobs or go on to further education. Playaway is a high quality, affordable childcare based in local community for local parents.

Services
The project was set-up by local parents, the playgroup leader and staff who formed a committee to push the project forward. The idea was to build upon the long established local playgroup by adding an after school club, which would continue to look after the children when they went to school. Under the guidance of The Company Shop, the group was established as a "Company Limited by Guarantee".
Play-A-Way will continue to provide Preschool sessions on weekday mornings and Playgroup sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We hope you will continue to use these facilities and recommend them to your family and friends.
The After School Club at Play-a-way has been open since 1999 and we have welcomed hundreds of children through our doors over the past 20 years, so the decision to close our afternoon session for Primary school children has not been taken lightly, or without trying every conceivable option to keep the Club open.
