The best local sourced whole wheat is carefully cleaned and is ideal for all poultry and waterfowl. Wheatfeed is also known as wheat middlings. These are a co-product from Marriage's flour mill and will provide a simple traditional straight feed to maintain condition in horses. Our bran is another co-product from the Marriage's flour mill, which uses the very best Canadian and local British wheat to produce high quality flour.
Our robin food contains mealworms, although useful all year round especially beneficially during the winter months. Garden worms are going deeper underground, the ground itself is harder so birds such as Thrushes, Blackbirds and Robins will need extra protein. Ideal to feed through hanging feeders, ground or table feeding.
Just like humans, chickens need a balanced diet. This consists of lots of different nutrients such as protein, carbohydrate, vitamins, and minerals. Protein provides amino acids which are vital nutrients, but ensuring you have the right amounts of these is particularly important - the amounts required are different depending on life stage and so growing chickens have different requirements from laying hens.
During our visit to PATS Sandown 2019, Sam Marriage, director of Marriage's Specialist Foods, presented a seminar on small animal nutrition. It is important that owners understand the main components of their poultry feed and what key ingredients are included to provide optimum nutrition over the winter months.

I have kept birds for a number of years and always used marriages feeds, however seed quality has deteriorated. I made a complaint to their head office but they were less than helpful, advising me to simply return the bag of feed to where i purchased it from for an exchange...I will be changing my brand to Johnston & Jeff or Country Wide
