My colleague Rob had been planning to buy the business and move it to a new location. However after an exhaustive search, and several false starts, it transpires that there is simply no appropriate alternative venue either for rent or purchase in the Woking area. Rob has since found a very attractive gallery and framing business and is now pursuing that option however it is 80 miles away.
I wish him the best of luck with his new venture. It is possible that I may resume framing from home at some juncture. If you are an artist and require some very cheap pre used frames please drop in to the shop and see our stock before we close - everything must go! We've been framing in Woking for over forty years, and under the same ownership for much of that time.

Services
We have over 500 frames and 100 mounts for you to choose from. That might sound intimidating, but don't let it be. We're out to simplify the choice rather than to complicate. We will view the artwork, ask you about your ideas and the room dcor, and offer you some ideas. We offer expert advice on framing combinations to suit your taste and creativity as well as your budget.
Our gallery is eclectic, but once again quality underpins it all whether our constantly changing range of artists, or the exhibition stage. Do come and visit us, to chat through some ideas on how you can transform your artwork, or to view our current collection.
New to our Gallery is 12 of the very popular Quentin Blake OBE's limited edition prints (some signed) including Roald Dahl illustrations, plus some beautiful limited edition prints by Fletcher Sibthorp and Mia Tarney. Our gallery also features work from notable artists such as Woking's own Sunita Khedeker who began her gallery career at Barbers, Joe Bowen, Ray Campbell and Sue MaCartney Snape.

Was hugely disappointed in this place. I had a cheap map that I wanted framed in a particular way. He said no to it and explained why. I accepted it. He told me the cost to get it framed and stuck onto a backing board. £70. It took weeks to do, which I didn't mind. But the framing wasn't that great and they had stuck down the poster so badly there were creases all over the poster. When you pay £70 you would expect quality. I would say it wasn't quality and it wasn't well done. I asked for a discount and he said no. I will not be going there again.

I recently had some paintings framed at Barbers and I have to say it was an excellent service. First, they thoughtfully went through the different options with me. After a week the (3) paintings were ready for collection and the frames were perfectly suited. After realising I had forgotten to sign one of them, I brought it back and they took it out of the frame, free of charge, and offered me a coffee while I set up my paint for the signature! I then brought it back a second time, after deciding I wanted to make prints of it before selling it. Not only did they remove it again but chatted to me

Stuart has always done all of our framing and has recently reframed and updated some beautiful but tired looking inherited pictures. As usual, he has done a wonderful job and brought these lovely heirlooms back to life with a modern look. Great value with a timely & personal service. Can't recommend Barbers highly enough.

I did not receive good service. I went in to ask for a quote and was told, as though I didn't know, that it would be "very expensive". I found this odd, I persisted asking how much it would be and was told it would be "expensive" and refused a quote. Personally I feel that because I am a young person and was probably dressed a particular way that the man serving assumed I could not afford his services. The pictures I have are themselves worth thousands, I wasn't about to scrimp on framing. Will not return and will seek somewhere that doesn't make its prospective customers feel undervalued.
