Services
Hill Farm PYO has been established for over 45 years. The first crop grown in the early 1970's was sweet corn. Before this, the farm had been a traditional mixed arable and livestock farm, growing wheat, barley and sugar beet, along with around 50 beef cattle. Paddy's parents, John and Jill, we're first generation farmers and moved to Hill Farm in 1962.
Crop seasons are weather dependent, so please note that this information is an approximate guide only. Note that this year, several crops have been effected by the cold spring. Please call 01733 233270 for up-to-date drop information and listen carefully to the recorded message. Note that this message is altered as soon as the crop situation changes.
The farm shop is open as usual for 'ready picked' produce, tea, cake, as well as the playground. We also recommend you phone the farm number 01733 233270 before you set out on your journey and listen to the recorded message which states crop availability. This recording is updated as the crop situation changes.
If there is no reply we are most likely in the fields attending the crops. If so, please leave a clear message including your telephone number and we will return your call as soon as possible. The farm entrance is situated on Oundle Road, 300m west of the Alwalton/Chesterton A1 flyover. The sat nav post code is PE7 3UA (however, please note that the sat nav will most likely direct you to Manor Farm, which is directly opposite our entrance gate!).

We've been here for strawberry picking, wild flowers, all seasonal fruits. We recently came here for the pumpkins and some squash and tomatoes to make some soup with. I picked up some apples and I'm gutted I only got a couple because they were glorious ! Lovely, friendly staff. A little play area for children and the pumpkin picking was really lovely,so many varieties and sizes.

An absolutely fantastic place to take the kids to pick their own pumpkins. The layout was very well set up with a one way system and I'm glad that the path returning to the main area was shorter. Especially with a wheel barrow full of pumpkins! Being our first time here, we were given excellent directions and the fact that the staff are maintaining Covid-19 precautions is very reassuring. This is including to the cleaning of the wheel barrows as well!
The different Halloween themed cut outs were great for pictures, though my little one was a bit scared to go near them. So the missus got a picture

A wonderful afternoon. We picked strawberries and gooseberries which were available in abundance. Super advice given by the lady in the shop as to where to find the "best" strawberries, how it worked and she gave us a leaflet for the dates to pick their other produce. We picked for about 30 minutes then stopped for a quick drink, ice cream and brownie which was delicious and picked up a jar of local honey. My daughter had a play on the children's play area before picking again for another 30 minutes. It was such a lovely afternoon with my husband and daughter. Will definitely be returning again

Really nice place to spend a day with family. As a pick your own fruits farm you get a variety of fruits to choose from. We went late August and had the chance of picking blackberries, raspberries and plums. Strawberries were out of season so it’s always best to check before arriving if you are after picking certain fruits. At the end you get to weigh your own fruits and take them home for about £7 per kilo. Palette of space and kids play area makes it a perfect place for family day out
