Rob Date - After a thirteen year career in the Army as a helicopter technician which included being a part of the Army cycling team, Rob trained as a Sports & Remedial Therapist. He has worked for over eighteen years building a successful clinic based on effective treatment and client care. Most of his clients come from word-of-mouth recommendations which is proof of his success.
Rob has competed as a cyclist, run the Cardiff marathon and had a 'go' at triathlon and adventure racing. He has a passion for cycling and running bio-mechanics which has led to him setting up a specialised clinic unique to the South West. Rob treats sports and non-sports people of all ages including children (with parental attendance) and is registered with the Government's Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

What is Neuromecular Therapy? Simply, it's a form of soft tissue manipulation that aims to treat the underlying causes of chronic pain involving the muscular and nervous systems. What I used to find as a massage therapist was that sometimes, no matter how hard I worked an area, there was little adaptive change.
Sports massage, applied skillfully, is a very effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculo-skeletal system. Received regularly this may help athletes prevent injuries, which might otherwise be caused by overuse. A constant build-up of tension in the muscles from regular activity may lead to stresses on joints, ligaments, tendons, as well as the muscles themselves.
Remedial massage focuses on treating injuries, muscular aches and pains and postural imbalances. When muscles and tendons become damaged or impaired, knotted and tense or immobile, remedial massage provides a healing treatment that can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow.
Remedial massage holistically treats the whole body and traces discomfort as far as possible back to the original cause, healing both the cause of the disorder as well as the symptoms. We use remedial massage techniques to locate tense muscular tissue. Massage of these tense areas helps speed up the body's own repair mechanisms to create homeostasis.

Firstly, with running technique or the 'shape' you make when you run. Unfortunately, because of modern running footwear affecting the foots incredibly advanced and developed sensors, most runners make the wrong shape when running i.e. heel striking. This was found, during a very detailed study of running biomechanics at Harvard University, to be the most common cause of running injuries.
I was planning on making a video showing an effective post running stretch routine. However I'm not very pleasing to look at and these guys at the 'Running Channel' do a far better job! Try it if you don't currently have a particular stretch session, you'll feel the difference. If there was ever a must read for runners then 'Born To Run' by Christopher McDougall is it.
