At AMS we are part of the UK's Leading Number 1 DPF Cleaning Network "THE DPF DOCTOR", Which gives us the oppertunity to be above the rest. In many cases, the DPF light does not actually mean that you have a fault, it can be an indication that you simply need to take the car for a journey of around 20 minutes at around 60mph to allow the vehicle to do an active regeneration.
Being outdoors people ourselves here at Athersmith's Garage we have seen a huge shift in the vehicle market from family cars to family Vans. Mark and myself are T5 & T6 owners, being passionate about the brand and the life style. Therefore, we have a wide range of experience working on T4, T5, and T6 transporters.
One of the original founding members of Athersmith Motor Service's. Marks experience in Canada seems to be the fundamental reason for his success in the motor trade. In later years his role seems to have changed to the handy man. Jack is our newly recruited Land rover / Ranger rover specialist. He spent the majority his mechanical career working on them.

While on holiday, a front wheel bearing gave-up and I had to find an urgent repair with a long journey ahead. One call to the Athersmith Team and they worked miracles, getting my car repaired fully within 24 -hours of the call, at a very competitive price. They really are fantastic and I shall be sure to use them for other services on my regular trips to Ulverston. They are best in class!

I can only give this garage high praise. I rang on Friday last week as I had a problem with my exhaust. The man in the garage said he could only do the repair by the end of this week. I explained that I live here most of the time but also live in Merseyside and I was needing my car to return home on Wednesday this week. The man said no problem and he fitted me in on Monday the job was done and iam more than happy with the service I received I shall definitely return in the future if I need anything else done to my car and I will certainly pass on to other people about the service I received thank

Highly recommended! My 19 yr old son was on holiday in the area with friends. His exhaust started to sound terrible and was falling off. Sam at Athersmith couldn’t have been more helpful. Car booked in following day, and it was all fixed by lunchtime. Brilliant service, thank you, and very much appreciated.

These guys bent over backwards to help me when my car went into limp mode. We were on a 3 day break in Barrow, and were in Whitehaven when my car developed a diagnostic problem developed. I rang a couple of main dealers, and told them my problem. Telling them we were on holiday from Liverpool and needed help. They both said they could not help because they were fully booked out. I rang these guys who told me to bring it in right away. The problem was resolved within an hour.
I cannot recommend them any higher, it was a big worry being so far from home, but these guys sorted it

We put our vehicle through its mot here a few months back. The brakes needed servicing, and when we picked the car up, we were told it was given all new pads, etc brand new all of it. But car comes out squeaking like hell, strange metallic scraping noise from the back brakes. Phoned Athersmiths, oh its nothing just new stuff, noise will go away soon. Three months later, noise never went away. Just put it through another garage and apparently the brakes were falling to bits, not even assembled properly. Double checked the invoice: no new brakes on it or anything. And the car needed to be safe to

I can't recommend Athersmiths enough.
Grant and his team go above and beyond, the service i received was first class.
My own car dealership was less than helpful.
Even after the Christmas break 4th Jan, Grant was here within the hour of me calling to take my car away as it was too dangerous to drive.
Definitely trustworthy, honest top class mechanics.

Have used this garage only twice, but we will now be going nowhere else. The team are fantastic! They work well, work quickly and won't bull***t us. We are always kept informed of what's happening and we have been able to drop off our car in the morning and pick it up at the end of the day. We have been fitted in the same day that we have called despite how busy they clearly are. Cannot recommend enough.
