Fantastic free house pub and restaurant, now also offering accommodation. Friendly professional staff, good real ales and food to die for. Not quick but you can't create perfection in an instant.

Part of a large group celebrating our parent's wedding anniversary. Pre-ordered the food and it was very tasty, piping hot. Service was attentive and friendly and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

First trip to the Horse. 5 couples. All had the Xmas 3 course menu and all impressed. Must say though that the quantity of cheese on the cheese and biscuits course was far too small. Otherwise it was all delicious with great friendly service.

Turned up without a booking on a very busy Sunday and the manager made an effort to find us a table. When we were sat down the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and beautifully presented. Would recommend booking but well worth a visit.

Came here for Sunday lunch around 6 months ago whilst visiting our son. This time booked again and it was just as good. Great food and portion sizes, service excellent. Wish we lived nearer as we'd definitely be frequent visitors.

Yesterday we held a wake at The Horse for my husband and I cannot praise them enough. We had sole use of the restaurant and more than enough space for all of us. The food was exceptional, well presented, delicious and more than enough for our guests. Some family and friends had travelled a long way and Leigh provided boxes for them to take food away he even made up a separate plate for a dairy intolerant guest. The level of service provided by everyone was excellent. Overall they made a very sad occasion bearable. Thank you

Ventured off the M1 looking for somewhere for a spot of lunch and a quick Google search came up with this place. Booked on the website for 15 minutes, arrived, were sat to a table and food arrived no more than 5-6 minutes. Friendly, welcoming service and the trio of meats we had was absolutely outstanding. Best roast we'd had in a long time. Highly recommend and we'll be back when next in the area.

Great food and friendly fast service at this lovely pub. We also stayed in their very nice new BnB rooms in a new building away from the road. A great stop off! Some good vegetarian options as well and traditional pub dishes done really well and wood fired pizza menu too. Book dinner ahead for a Saturday, though we were lucky getting a last minute table. One room has a big TV for sport with another bar and couple of rooms for quiter drinks and dinner. Clearly a favourite with locals for celebratory dinners but we had space and peace at a table for 2.
