This has been recognised by fantastic reviews on Facebook & Google, as well as national and regional awards. We essentially provide what supermarkets cannot by supporting and suppling stock from local businesses. We have a very close relationship with local suppliers and manage our buying direct from local farmers and producers.

Tom Amery has been around the Dorset food scene for a while, heading up The Wasabi Company - one of the first farms outside Japan to grow wasabi and winner of multiple Great Taste Awards - and the award-winning Brace of Butchers in Poundbury.
Councillor Les Fry, on behalf of the Dorchester Community Support group, said: This is a very nice opportunity to thank our volunteers who have been supporting our community and this is a nice gesture from the team at Brace of Butchers. Our group has been operating for three months now and has completed over 800 separate tasks.

We will then make the order, run it through the scales and phone you back to confirm order value and take a secure payment. At this point, we will confirm the best delivery slot. We deliver on Tuesday to Saturday, generally in the afternoons as we make the orders in the morning.

The role is a Sunday & evening shift position to allow maximum shop efficiency and minimal disruption to our retail sales during day.

Yesterday afternoon I visited "Brace of Butchers" for the first time. It won't be the last!
Making use of the free parking immediately outside the shop - a great help, being disabled - I used the ramp to easily gain entry. A chair was quickly found to allow me to comfortably place my order: Two 1" thick sirloin steaks, cut in front of me, wrapped separately because I requested it, and in a bag with handles because I asked. An easy contactless payment and I was on my way.

The team at Braces have kept us well stocked up and been so friendly and easy to place orders with. They supplied us well especially during lockdown, it was such a relief knowing we didn't need to wait weeks for a delivery from a chain, Braces came the next day with all our essentials. Unfortunately, we had to move away from the best butchers in the UK in my humble opinion and we have used a lot of them throughout Scotland and England. I miss the huge selection of fresh meats which can be cut into practically anything you desire by the fabulous Rob! Nothing is too much trouble for that guy! I miss filling my bottle with fresh milk, the freshly baked quiches, scotch eggs, pies, pasties etc. They have an abundant choice of seasonable local vegetables, spices and herbs, local honey, fresh cheeses, handcrafted drinks and best of all - lardy cake!
