About Us - Company History From 1936 when John Portlock joined Pyrene, the largest fire protection company in Britain the Portlock family has been involved with firefighting. Evan Portlock joined Pyrene in 1970 and in 1976 upon John's retirement father and son decided to form their own company EJP Fire Protection.
Fire Extinguisher Servicing and Maintenance The annual servicing of fire extinguishers is the core activity of EJP Fire Protection. We operate thousands of service calls each year, ranging from large factory and office sites to village churches.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our service visits and we ensure that all portable fire extinguishers are serviced in accordance with BS5306 Part 3. We will ensure that the following procedures: We call promptly each year when your service is due We will provide your organisation with exactly the right level of service We will provide objective opinions on the condition of your extinguishers If many extinguishers require updating we will phase this over several years to reduce large one-off costs We will keep you updated on any changes in fire legislation We will provide you a 'Certificate of Maintenance' valid for a year In addition, to your annual service visit EJP Fire Protection Ltd will provide you with a complete backup service to your extinguishers.

Fire Extinguisher Surveys, Quotations and Supply EJP Fire Protection Ltd offers free site surveys and quotations. Whether moving into brand new premises, changing the use of current premises or simply wanting a review of your existing extinguisher cover we will attend site and carry out a detailed survey.
Fire Alarm Maintenance and Servicing EJP Fire Protection Ltd can service your existing Fire Alarm system to current British Standards. A six-monthly servicing and preventive maintenance visit should be carried out by an engineer with specialist knowledge of fire-warning and automatic detection systems.
Fire Alarm Design and Installation From single domestic smoke alarms to multiple zone, fully functional fire alarm systems for residential, commercial or industrial properties - EJP Fire Protection can design, install and commission your fire alarm system. Conventional or addressable systems, wired or wireless - we will ensure that the system most suited to your needs will be specified following our free of charge site survey.
