The architectural design of your extension, conversion, redesign or new build is the first step of your project. This stage is critical and we work closely with our clients to bring to life a design that completely fulfils the brief, while respecting lifestyle factors and budget.
At BetterLivingSpace we use 3D imaging and can also implement Virtual Reality technology during the development phase, enabling you to visualise and refine your ideas as we progress.This method enables us to fully layout the house in detail with all the fixings, fittings and furniture in place. Once the design is complete, we submit to Local Authority Planning.

The structural elements form the base of your extension, conversion, or new build project and can - quite literally - make or break the design! Our in-house structural engineers use bespoke, tailored calculations to provide the most simple yet effective structural solutions. We absolutely thrive on finding individual answers to intricate challenges!
A single point of responsibility: each project is assigned one main site foreman, who is responsible for delivering all aspects of work. A single point of contact: the foreman has a deep understanding of all design and structural work, and any specific requirements. At BetterLivingSpace we use building techniques that align to your budget and offer the highest value in relation to quality, time and money.
Choosing to self build does not always mean rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in on the building site. Although, you probably will at some point! There are varying levels of involvement in a self build project and many people choose to engage professional support to assist with architectural and structural designs, the Building Control process and components of the build itself.

I cannot recommend Ed at BetterLivingSpace highly enough. He recently provided structural calculations and structural plans for a renovation project on my home. I am a worrier but immediately felt at ease on meeting Ed, who was so calm and took the time to help me understand the structural components. He clearly has so much knowledge of his trade. He answered my questions and queries with patience and clarity. I was extremely grateful also that Ed, and also Clair the company's marketing manager, were always at the end of the phone continuing to give answers, advice and reassurances

We were recommended Ed through a trusted local builder who has worked on several projects with him. We had our initial plans drawn up by an architect but it was Ed who has truly brought them to life and finessed every detail while incorporating a few extra things after listening to our needs and wants. His business manner and his general character is better than you would hope for when dealing with a project that is so personal like your home. He is very approachable and listens. I would highly recommend him for any project you are thinking of. Hopefully we get in a position to use you again. Thanks

Ed helped us with the removal of a connecting wall between the kitchen / dining room including the first floor chimney breast. As it was a main structural wall Ed's structural engineering skills were invaluable. We also enlisted Ed's project management skills so the work could be completed while we were on holiday. It was great to return with all the work complete and not having to live through the mess. Something that wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for Ed - monitoring the builders and keeping us updated on the progress. I wouldn't hesitate in using Ed again and highly recommend, He was
