Enjoy our classic Turkish food or try something a little different from our charcoal grill, all in an intimate, friendly and welcoming environment! Situated in the High Street of the picturesque village of Otford In the Darenth Valley just 100 yards from the only listed duck pond in the country, Hilal is itself a Grade II listed building.
Built in the 16th century, it was originally three one-up one down cottages situated next door to the Blacksmith on what was the main Pilgrims Way from London to Canterbury. The former cottages were converted from a private house into tea-room in the 60's, then became Hilal Restaurant. Low-beamed and retaining much of the original character, it is cozy and welcoming which contributes greatly towards a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.

What can I say apart from excellent. I went their for a coffee early this morning (16/06) as I had to hang around for a train. My coffee was below minimum card spend and who carries cash these days? Offered to go to a cash point. Owner Said no ‘drop to me another time’ I haven’t heard that in years. Ended up staying for 3 coffees. Service excellent, staff excellent and I have ate their many times, food excellent. 👌
