Services
Burwash Larder started over 35 years ago as a roadside 'honesty box' system to sell the farm's glut of asparagus and sweetcorn. Over the years it has evolved and grown into a modern farm shop and deli. Owned by Michael Radford, the farmer whose family have owned and resided at Burwash Manor farm for many generations, the shop is run by Clare & Tinks while Mike gets on with the day-to-day running of the farm.

They appear to have lost the plot under Covid 19 restrictions. The food is no better than anywhere else and it is certainly no cheaper. What The Larder has been is convenient and a pleasant shopping experience.
Whilst the Covid 19 restrictions are stressful The Larder have not got access sorted. Only three people in the shop at one time. However you cannot see how many are in the shop without stepping over the threshold. This gives the staff the opportunity to shout at you for infringing their rules.
At the last visit two staff shouted in unison.

Excellent service and customer care during difficult period. While we are in lockdown and the supermarkets are often lacking in certain items, I have found that The Larder has been a great help. There is a good range of excellent quality produce - from meat, flour, fruits, veg, preserves, dairy items, gins, frozen veg. By phoning early in the day, you can select the items you need, and a member of staff will gather your shop for you. You pay over the phone, drive to the door and your box of goods Is placed in your boot. This is social distancing and customer service at a new level. If you should

Mmn had a couple of issues with the Larder and not sure I’ll be shopping there again soon. Both times bought items a day or two out of ‘use by’ dates. This time I was sold out of date cheese. Thought I’d make it easier/cheaper for them by offering to take new cheese rather than a refund, told them I’d spent £6.40 on the original cheese, was given a replacement supposedly weighed for equal value (no sticker), get home and it weighs in at £4.40 on their prices. Really poor, hard to think that wasn’t deliberate despite apologies for the issue.

Never too far away from a robust & smooth flat white, coming in at a very resonable price it is a treat every time, which is almost every day or other day for a local such as myself. The team behind the success are friendly, professional, and have a tight game plan in place that makes the shopping experiance safe and Covid proof. Thank you for being awesome, keep up the good work.

We went to the food festival and also to visit the permanent shops there. We loved the farm shop and delighted to see most of the veg, bread etc was plastic free. The shop were happy to put items into paper bags for us. They have a wonderful cheese counter and butchers. The brownies we bought were to die for! We then went into the food festival and this was smaller than we expected but about 15/16 stalls in all with samples. It was free in. We had a great afternoon despite the weather and would go back again.
