After gaining a degree in Biology at The University of Sheffield, Lydia then studied and gained a degree in Optometry and Vision Sciences at Cardiff University. After completing her pre-registration year, she gained her certificate to practice becoming a Member of The College of Optometrists. Lydia undertakes all aspects of eyecare and contact lenses as well as low vision.

Your eye examination will take approximately 30 minutes and will be performed by Lydia our qualified optometrist who will discuss fully the results from the examination and will be pleased to answer any questions or concerns you might have. Following your eye examination, one of our dispensing team will advise you on the various ways we can satisfy your optical requirements according to your lifestyle.
Since 2002 in Wales it has been possible to have an extended eye health examination free of charge if you are in an "at risk" group. This service is funded by the Welsh Assembly. Anyone who would find losing their sight in one eye disabling, such as the profoundly deaf or people with Uniocular vision.
Low vision simply means not being able to see as well as most other people even when you're wearing glasses or contact lenses, this can be due to other problems in the eyes. In today's society it is rare people will lose their vision completely, however conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration or damage to the eye from other eye related diseases or injury can result in substantial visual loss.
