At Dansarena Studios Ltd we believe that the art of dance brings many things to each of our wonderful students. Dance contributes to the development of strength, co-ordination, balance, grace, poise and most important self-confidence. The philosophy of the Studio is based on our professional teaching staff imparting their knowledge in a positive, enthusiastic, safe environment while maintaining structure and discipline.
We offer a variety of dance & musical theatre classes and accredited exams in conjunction with RAD and ISTD. We are one of the largest leading part time dance schools in the West of Scotland with a future vision to become a vocational dance school offering HNC/HND/Courses. Pupils are taught in a supportive way enabling them to develop their skills and self-confidence allowing them to excel in their dance and musical theatre.

Services
Formerly the Cathcart Church at 9 Fort Street, Ayr, Dansarena was created in 1984 when Karen Mitchell and her husband Dennis Gage bought the Grade 2 listed building from the Church of Scotland. Barr Construction Co. carried out the conversion and Karen's late father, James Mitchell co-ordinated the refurbishment.
Kerry trained at the Janice Marshall School of Dance and at the age of 9 successfully auditioned for Scottish Ballet's Junior Associate Scheme. She then became a founder member of the Dance School of Scotland. At the age of 16 she furthered her dance training at London Studio Centre.
She continued her classical training with amazing teachers such as Anya Evans (New York City Ballet) Anita Young, Robert Mead and Ronald Emblem (Royal Ballet) where she gained her Diploma in Dance.Kerry has danced professionally including dancing in Shakespears Sisters pop video "You're History". On her return to Scotland she taught dance classes in all genres.

At Dansarena Studios Ltd we follow the RAD Grade and Vocational Graded Syllabi for Ballet. The RAD is one of the world's most influential dance education and professional membership organisation, specialising in dance education and training with an emphasis on classical ballet. Ballet has influenced and defined the foundation of technique used in other genres, it is the core foundation for all dancers.
Children attend dance lessons for a variety of reasons. Some dream of becoming ballerinas, others would love to dance on the West End stage and others dance for the fun and enjoyment. Come and join a dance class. The key to keeping fit is finding an activity you enjoy. Adult classes are relaxed, friendly and centred around having a good time. Dancing isn't just a hobby for children. Anyone can to learn to dance. In fact, there is a great deal of benefit involved in learning to dance as an adult.
