George and Kathleen Nisbet started the business in 1993. George was from a farming family and then went on to serve his time as a car mechanic. Eventually this was to be useful in the fitting and repairing of garage doors. Kathleen was a primary school teacher and kept the accounts and the paperwork in check for George.
His son, Michael, had come out of the army just as we were getting busier. Michael's time as an Armourer also helped him apply himself in the Garage Door trade. From time to time we employed young apprentices from Henry Boot and were very successful in the recruitment of Gavin our longest serving employee.

Services
Sectional doors are space-saving allowing you to park right in front of the door. These can also be fitted to any opening shape because they are fitted behind. Automatic sectional doors are great for security as they are sealed at the top and sides. Sectional doors need little maintenance, just a service once a year before the bad weather comes.
We use 3 manufacturers for these doors, Hormann, Garador and Cardale, giving you plenty of choice. Canopy doors are the traditional garage doors that allow extra drive-through width, not achieved with the retractable door. This is because the lifting mechanism is contained above the door. The maximum size limit is 8ft x 7ft.
A roller garage door provides plenty of space in front of the garage allowing you to park right up to the door if space is tight. It also has the added bonus of utilising the space in your garage as the door hardly takes up any room in the ceiling area. Standard Insulated Roller - Needs 300mm head room.
Winter is always fast approaching, it seems we're all starting to notice the temperature dropping, so it's time to batten down the hatches and seal up any draughty areas of your home. Garages are a great place to start, because you could make a major difference with just one single change. Insulated Sectional Doors are particularly great for windy areas because they are sealed all around!
Hormann Thermo46 - Made of steel, with PU foam infill and a thermal break being 46mm thick, this door offers a U value of up to 1.1. There are two frame options a round style or rectangle. Many styles coming optionally without side elements to allow for more security up to RC2 certification. There is a standard 5 point security lock with some styles having the option to have RC2 equipment added to give you even more security.

I have just had 2 garage doors fitted by Tayside Garage Doors Ltd and I have been thoroughly impressed by their excellent service. The fitting team new what they were doing and the doors were installed within the time frame quoted. They cleaned up after them and didn't leave until i was satisfied with their work.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.
