Services
Our premium quality product. These hardwood logs are dried in our wood-fired kilns reducing the moisture content to below 18%, making them ideal for immediate use in wood-burning stoves and pizza ovens. The large ventilated bags contain a mixture of native hardwoods (ash, oak, beech, sycamore and birch), which are cut to approximately 9 (25cm) lengths to fit 99% of wood-burning stoves.
Timber from local woodlands is delivered to our yard, where it is stacked. We use mainly mixed hardwoods, such as beech, ash, sycamore, oak and birch, which are all renowned for their excellent burning qualities. As soon as the trees are felled, the drying process begins. The wood is then loaded onto our state-of-the-art, computerised, wood-processing machine, which cuts and splits the timber into logs.
Lakeland Logs delivers its firewood through a nationwide courier service and can deliver your order within three working days. All logs are delivered on a recycled, burnable pallet. We aim to despatch on the same day, if the order is placed on a working day before 2.30pm. If the order is placed on a non-working day or after 2.30pm on a working day, despatch will be on the next working day.
Throughout the year, it supplies national firewood retailers, building merchants, garden centres and garage forecourts, as well as heating oil distributors and coal merchants. The logs are sent in bulk for the wholesale customer to sell on directly or repackage themselves. Alternatively, Lakeland Logs can pack the logs into a company's branded bags.
We use a nationwide courier service, and the logs are delivered on a recycled burnable pallet. The courier's vehicle must be able to park. Delivery vehicles use tail-lift offloading. A pallet truck is used to manoeuvre the products off the vehicle to the kerb site delivery point. The courier cannot travel across gravel or grass.

Excellent kiln dried wood: neat, regular and well cut logs which burn beautifully.
Am reviewing now, as I’ve only just started using the wood. The one star drop is for a hitch on delivery caused by my sloping drive and a spot of missed communication at the time. Discussed with Lakeland back then and all sorted.
I will certainly use Lakeland again: the product is excellent and talking to them was no problem.
I recommend them. If kerbside drop off is an issue for you, just make sure you have extra hands there for delivery. It’s worth it to get good product.
Last year, wood from another supplier

Anyone thinking of buying firewood from Lakeland Logs, avoid them like the plague.
We spent over £200 with them earlier this year on a load of supposedly seasoned hardwood. It arrived damp (as wood generally does in the winter), we stacked it in our dry, ventilated garage but even now, some weeks later, it's unburnable. The wood is wet to the touch, covered in mould, hisses when added to a fire and smokes like billy-oh. I've had a few conversations with them over email but they refuse to accept that the wood could be wet, claiming that the photo I sent (of mould-covered, mossy logs) shows that

I specifically added a comment in the order to make sure the courier know I live on the hill. Normally I don't have issues with deliveries (did a garden and had lots of soil bags delivered).
Took a day off especially to get the delivery in and sort it out. However, the incompetent person from Lakeland Logs did not notify the courier about the hill and the delivery failed. I lost a day of holiday costing me £120 as I wasted that day waiting for nothing. When I sent an email to the Lakeland Logs regarding the issue I have been ghosted, not even an apology. I guess mother didn't teach them manners

Living in Hampshire, I didn't realise that these guys were in the Lake District. I ordered on Monday afternoon, and the logs were delivered on Thursday. Really good quality kiln dried logs that burn great. The delivery driver was extremly helpful. I can't fault these guys - great service and product at a really good price. Will certainly be back for more next year......thank you!!

Bought some seasoned logs which clearly were not seasoned for any length of time. Moss on the logs in the middle / bottom of the bag was bright green with fresh sawdust on the logs. E mailed with photos and no response and then called to get a "good luck". My own fault for buying so close to Christmas. The Pallet burns better than the logs.
