Chiropractic is a primary health care profession, one of the fastest growing areas of healthcare. It is a hands-on healthcare discipline that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and management of conditions affecting the spine, joints, muscles and nerves in the body. It emphasizes the inherent power of the body to heal itself using skilled, precise chiropractic manipulative techniques, manual therapy and soft tissue techniques.
Research shows that back pain is one of the most common reasons for taking time off work, between 50-80% of people will suffer recurring episodes within a 5 year period. According to the National Institute for Clinical Guidelines NICE (2009) Chiropractic treatment has been shown to be effective in the management of low back pain.
Chiropractic can help to alleviate and manage pelvic pain during pregnancy which is caused from hormonal changes, increased weight gain and an increased curvature in the Lumbar spine. Your body produces and releases the hormone Relaxin during pregnancy enabling the ligaments of the pelvis to stretch and allowing for the growing fetus.
Many people like to participate in sports for a variety of reasons including health, fitness and enjoyment. Each sport puts differing amounts of stress, force and torsion through the joints, muscles, ligaments and nerves of the body. Due to habitual postural strain or previous injury it is very common to see mechanical dysfunctions i.e.
Neck pain, like the lower back can be excruciating and draining and often trigger associated symptoms such as headaches, migraines, shoulder and arm pain and fatigue. Commonly neck pain is triggered from an injury, stress, poor posture or repetitive strain. This means that the pain is not related to any serious underlying condition and there are no trapped or compressed nerves.

Both my children play a lot of sport and have suffered various soft tissue injuries and growing pains in their knees and shoulders which Rachel Jones has treated successfully on several occasions. She has always been sympathetic and reassuring with both parents and children. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

I have been going to Rachel for over five years, she totally understood and worked out the problems I had and improved things for me so much . I would not go to any other chiropractor as I think she always puts 100% in and looks for underlying reasons for the problems you might have had for many years. I would recommend her to anyone that has unresolved on going issues.

I am an ophthalmologist and working in a sitting position most of the day exacerbated an old athletic injury in my lower back. I have seen Rachel on several occasions and have had very little problem with my back since. I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any musculoskeletal pain or old injuries.

For years I have suffered from neck and shoulder injuries sustained from playing Rugby in my younger days. The help that Rachel has given me has soothed my pains and improved my mobility no end! Due to the treatment that I have received I have been able to play squash and regularly take up mountain biking without any repercussions.
I would not hesitate to recommend this centre to anybody suffering from aches and pains like I did!!
