Acupuncture is increasingly becoming a popular treatment choice for a wide range of conditions. The NHS recognises that acupuncture is a very safe treatment with few side-effects. NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) now recommends acupuncture as a first line treatment for lower back pain.
Conditions that are commonly treated with acupuncture include headache and migraine, musculo-skeletal pain (including sports injuries and sciatica), digestive disorders, menstrual pain and irregularity, infertility and IVF support, hayfever, sinusitis, stress, anxiety, low immunity, fatigue and chemo-therapy support.

Services
Acupuncture is a system of healthcare which has been practised in China and the Far East for over 2000 years to restore, promote and maintain good health. It is a safe and effective treatment which is becoming increasingly popular in the West as people find that it can offer an effective solution to many of our modern ailments.
Although acupuncture is often described as a means of pain relief, it is in fact used to treat people with a wide range of illnesses. Its focus is on understanding and treating the root causes of disease as well as alleviating the specific symptoms a patient may present with. This can lead to a more permanent resolution of your problem.
Many people come to acupuncture for help with specific symptoms or conditions such as back pain or menstrual problems. Others choose acupuncture as a preventative measure to strengthen their constitution or because they feel generally unwell. Acupuncture can also be used to reduce stress, promote sleep, boost immunity and improve general well-being.
The initial consultation usually lasts an hour. We start with a detailed discussion of your symptoms and your medical history. Questions about your sleep, diet, digestion and energy levels and examination of your tongue and pulse also help identify any underlying patterns of disharmony so that treatment can be tailored to you as an individual.
Frequency and length of treatment depends on your individual condition. Most patients experience some change after the first treatment and a noticeable improvement after four sessions although sometimes only one or two treatments are required. Chronic conditions may require long-term treatment. An average course of treatment is six weekly treatments after which a review is conducted.

I saw Diane for treatment following a lower back injury to help manage pain and mobility. I had never had acupuncture before and found her to be very calm, practical and reassuring, which put me at my ease. The treatment was very beneficial. When I had a bout of acute neck and shoulder pain recently I went back to Diane for treatment which was very effective. I would strongly recommend her services, I thought it was really good value too.

I recently contacted Diane for a initial consultation about on going pain in my left knee & hands. After 5 sessions I have noticed great improvement. Diane was professional throughout. I highly recommend acupuncture as a alternative to going down the route of endless painkiller drugs. Highly recommend Diane for her care & professional approach.

The side effects from cancer drug treatments can badly affect your quality
of life and it seems like there's not much you can do about them. However,
my GP referred me to Diane to see if acupuncture could help with the
problems I was having such as insomnia, exhaustion, muscle pains and joint
stiffness. Four years later, I am still having regular acupuncture sessions
because Diane's techniques have in most cases vastly improved if not wholly
eradicated the problems. Diane's expertise is innovative - she looks for
what works and if it doesn't, she finds an approach that does. She is also
