Our company was started by our present MD, Garnett Orford back in the early 1990s. Garnett who hails from the West Midlands, moved back into engineering after being made redundant from the Leeds printing business he ran for Robert Maxwell. He vowed at the age of 55 never to work for anyone again and Yorkshire Laser and Fabrication was born with just two employees.
CHERYL joined YLF in the midst of a Pandemic and is in charge of day-to-day operations from maintenance and design to planning and production. She is a firm believer in continuous improvement and is leading the way as a means to further grow the business and drive forward customer service.
Family, friends and two dogs are at the heart of Cheryl's world and there's nothing she loves more than a fun night out, watching rugby, attending music events or holidaying - either in a plush sun filled overseas location or, chancing her luck weatherwise, camping and caravanning in the UK.

DANIEL had a varied career in shopfitting, interiors and architecture before joining YLF and has a wealth of experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD). Responsible for creating technical drawings using design and other specialist software for Production, Daniel helps make customers' concepts a reality.
He trained as an apprentice welder and fabricator, working in sheet metal engineering for 18 years. His career has spanned the shop floor to senior management roles, and whilst his title might suggest otherwise, Matthew insists he is merely the company's 'dog's body!'
Matthew is most proud of playing a key role in the growth and development of Yorkshire Laser - from their humble back street beginnings to being a leading provider of laser cutting services and sheet metal fabrication.Matthews's guilty pleasures include Beer, Curry and Rugby - although not necessarily in that order!

Ivor is a passionate employee - declaring his love for Yorkshire Laser couldn't be stronger than if he owned the company. Having been in manufacturing all his life, he came to Yorkshire Laser 10 years ago. He credits the company's success to their personable, client centric approach.
Ivor's other passion is Taekwondo - he is the proud owner of a 1st Dan black belt and shares his love of the sport with his son and grandson, both equally as successful.Taekwondo operates a strict code of conduct, including self discipline and respect for others - Ivor ensures these principles are mirrored in his professional career as well as in his hobby.
