My passion for sport has led me to where I am today. After realising that my chances of becoming a professional sportsman were declining, I decided to pursue a career in sport and trained to become a qualified PE teacher. I successfully completed a 4-year BA Hons PE QTS degree at Leeds Metropolitan University, graduating in 2005.
Over the years, playing a variety of sports has seen me suffer from many niggles and injuries. This triggered an interest into how the body works, the cause of injuries and their prevention. I experienced first-hand the benefits of Sports Massage and Myofascial release early in my sporting career. Such was my enthusiasm that I decided to train as a Sports Massage Therapist and upon qualifying founded SP Sports massage therapy.

Services
Over the past few years that I've been working as a specialised massage therapist, I have had many opportunities to work with many different healing techniques. In my experience I have found only a few to be efficient in terms of working with soft tissue to realign the musculoskeletal system. In response to the myriad of questions I receive on a daily basis, I would like to briefly explain the work I do.
A Trigger point is defined as a hyperirritable point within a taught band of muscle, (a tender "knot" in the muscle tissue). These can be acute sources of pain, or latent, unnoticed by the client until a practitioner applies pressure. One of the clinical features of a trigger point is its ability to refer pain in a predictable pain pattern.
Recurrence is very common when people do not know how to help it. Very few people who feel pain in their low back have a serious medical problem. Ninety percent of people who experience low back pain for the first time get better in two to six weeks. Only rarely do people with low back pain develop chronic back problems.
Arthritis in the knee joint can cause problems for the bone and also affect the surrounding structures such as the muscle, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Osteoarthritis is caused by the cartilage gradually degenerating in the joint. Rheumatoid arthritis can also cause problems with the cartilage as the joint becomes inflamed.
The most likely cause of neck pain is poor posture. Neck pain is very common particularly in people who sit at a desk or computer for many hours (including domestic use of unsupported laptops / tablets). The problem may be due to a trapped nerve due to a stiff joint or less commonly due to a prolapsed disc.

I routinely visit Saul Peltier for deep sports massage. I find him welcoming, friendly, modern, thorough, and professional. I am a marathon runner. He helped me on my journey to complete 100 marathons and I am now a full member of the 100 marathon club. Current marathon tally is 112. I thoroughly recommend his approach and treatment.

I visited Saul on many occasions whilst training for a marathon. His treatment was first class and made me feel as good as new when my body was telling me to stop. Great professional service and gave me good insight and knowledge of what i could do at home myself too. Brilliant company who i would recommend to anyone

Over a period of 20+ years I must have spent thousands of pounds trying to solve a long running back problem. I’ve tried Osteopaths, Chiropractors, deep tissue massage, sports massage, physiotherapy - the lot.
Eventually, and purely by chance, I found SP Sports Massage Therapy.
Saul’s techniques of working through your body’s facia to get to the problem muscles were new to me, but incredibly effective. My back pain has reduced massively and I now go for weeks without issue. I’m delighted to say it is no longer a constant, nagging problem. Highly recommended.

I have been suffering with neck pains for about 12 months now. I finally got to a point when enough was enough, I contacted Saul one Sunday afternoon and explained my problem and the pain I was in, Saul managed to get me in the following Monday. I explained my problems and Saul knew exactly what to do, he took his time to explain what he was doing and why he was doing it. I’ve been for a couple of sessions now and can honestly feel the benefits, I was given a number of stretches to do daily to target problem areas which have lowered the pain problems.
