The BHS approved centre offers riding lessons with extensive hacking over the 500 acres of hill farm which boasts panoramic views of the stunning borders countryside. The centre has around 30 horses and ponies and is busy for lessons and hacking 6 days a week.

The centre hosts a wide variety of competitions and training in all equestrian disciplines and is a hive of activity most weekends.
Services
The Ian Stark Equestrian Centre offers riding tuition and hacking for everyone - from complete beginners to Common Riding stalwarts to competition riders. To enquire about the riding lessons or hacks please phone the centre on 01750 20202. The Riding Centre has a long-standing affiliation with the Riding for the Disabled Association. The RDA group sessions take place on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Our Centre has been developed to facilitate the varying abilities of our RDA riders. For more information about the RDA or how to get involved as a participant or volunteer please contact Kathie Marshall on 07896 089 133.
The Ian Stark Equestrian Centre comprises a 60 x27 indoor school, 60 x 24 Outdoor school, meeting room and kitchen/cafe, as well as loo and shower facilities. A complete set of affiliated standard showjumps are available plus a selection of rustic fences.

The Sir Wattie School is 60x27m, boasts a top-spec Martin Collins Ecotrack surface (as seen at Olympia and The Royal Windsor Showground) and can be divided into smaller areas with custom made A-frame boarding. The hire rate for the arena - including dressage boards and showjumps if required - is 35 plus VAT per hour.
These can be displayed in The Sir Wattie School, which is a purpose built indoor arena; boasting a top spec surface, as well as being in use for lessons and competitions 7 days a week. Also available is The Glenburnie outdoor arena, which is in regular use for warming up on busy competition days. The cost of two boards is 450 plus VAT per year, one of these will be displayed in the indoor arena, and one in the outdoor arena.
The riding centre started with Dryden Riding Centre. Nearly 40 years ago Jenny Stark started to offer riding lessons at her family home, Dryden, using a handful of highland ponies that were primarily used by the Riding for the Disabled Association. When Ian Stark's eventing career took off and children arrived, Jenny handed the business over to her sister Catriona (Tutti) McAulay.

Great venue for the Northern Pony Club Championships. Ian has fantastic facilities and was around to help the event run smoothly. A very good role model for the competitors.
Weather was really poor at the weekend but the event ran smoothly unlike the national championships which has been cancelled next weekend.
