Services
Occupational injuries account for many millions of working days lost each year in Britain. No matter whether your work is in the office or outside on the land you need to be able to cope with the individual demands made on your body by the style of work you do.

Manual work inevitably carries the inherent risk of injury caused by heavy and often awkward lifting, overstretching, and periods of prolonged bending causing back and disc injuries, sciatica, and muscle strains. In the office where desk work is more common, there are the dangers of 'computer hump' and 'mouse wrist', whilst frequent telephone use affects the neck and shoulders causing headaches and carpal tunnel syndrome etc.
Osteopathic treatment offers a wonderfully gentle way of helping the body adapt to the changes which are taking place during pregnancy, helping to relieve aches and pains as your body tries to accommodate the growing baby.

Both during and after pregnancy, osteopathic treatment can help to reduce low back pain, hip and pelvic pain, neck and shoulder pain, heartburn, indigestion, SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction), post-natal coccyx (base of the spine) pain, mid back pain due to breast feeding - to name just a few.Mums often benefit by returning 4 to 6 weeks after birth for a post-natal check-up to help restore pelvic, bladder and joint function.
Retirement can bring time for leisure, travel opportunities and interests to the older person. This is the chance to take up those sports and activities that you never had time for whilst working and bringing up your family, e.g. The body, however, has changed. It has lost some of its elasticity and ability to adapt.
When you visit us for the first time, a full Case History will be taken. This takes the form of a discussion regarding your present problem, your past medical history and your health in general. The Case History will give me an indication of the nature of your problem, and enable me to carry out appropriate examinations and tests to identify the exact cause of your complaint.
Osteopathy is an effective health care system which focuses mainly on the musculo-skeletal system (the muscles, joints, ligaments and connective tissues) and the way this inter-relates with the body as a whole. Osteopaths use their hands to diagnose and treat the underlying cause of the problem.

We take a holistic view that the musculo-skeletal system is important in maintaining the health of other parts of the body such as the respiratory and digestive systems.Poor health, pain and dysfunction may occur due to injury, work, stress, posture or perhaps disease. Osteopathy encourages the body to work as efficiently as possible, allowing the body to restore itself to normal function.

Really pleased with the treatment I received from Chris who managed to sort out my shoulder and neck problem, something that a physiotherapist didn’t manage to do. Highly recommend.

I would certainly recommend Churches Osteopath Practice. I went recently after having some quite sudden back pain and Chris identified the root cause, worked his magic, and I saw a very rapid improvement.

Another 5 star review for Chris at Churches. Having shockwave therapy on an achilles that has been bothersome for years, despite physio, massage, and ultrasound. For the first time in years I can squeeze the tendon without nauseating pain after 6 sessions of Shockwave. Also saw him for some osteopathic treatment on my neck and shoulder and I can attest Chris is a skilled practitioner.

I went to see Chris with back pain and have been delighted with the results. He has been brilliant working on a long standing back issue. Recently I had trouble with pain in one of my big toes after a fall and again Chris sorted the issue out this time with a machine called a magnetolith which really helped. Thoroughly recommend him.

After seeing 2 different osteopaths for my tennis elbow over the last 4 years, Chris has managed to eradicate my pain using shockwave therapy. I would highly recommend Chris and shockwave therapy to anyone with tennis elbow. Although he is not local to me, he is certainly worth the drive to his clinic. I am seeing much better results in the gym now, so thank you Chris!

In the last few years I had various problems due to Achilles tendinopathy (too much exercise, I couldn't run anymore) and more recently shoulder tendinopathy due to a shoulder fracture. By using western acupunture and shockwave therapy, Chris finally found a way to solve both problems and free me from the constant pain . I am finally able to run and swim again and cannot thank Chris enough!

I've seen Chris regarding a chronic tennis-elbow pain and Achilles tendon problem. Both issues have been successfully treated with the shock wave therapy. I was happy to find out that, after six sessions of treatment, I was almost pain free and noticed that the condition continued to improve even after the treatment had been finished. Thank you, Chris, for your professionalism and patience.

I started seeing Chris a few months back with a number of sport (golf) related injuries. I was unable to play golf, struggled with driving (a car) and was in considerable discomfort when walking. A couple of months down the road I am playing golf pain free and all other issues are most definitely in remission. Chris is extremely knowledgable and as a result his prognosis realistic. I would recommend Church's and Chris unreservedly.

I started to see Chris to get treatment for tennis elbow. He started using shock wave therapy on the area. After 4 sessions the pain was finally gone and I'd regained full use of my arm again. I highly recommend Chris generally (he's fixed so many of my injury niggles since then, including a long term SI joint problem) and the use of shock wave therapy to speed up recovery, if appropriate for the problem.

I first went to Chris many years ago with a long term back problem other osteopaths were unable to successfully treat. Following treatment by Chris I have had no further problems for some considerable time. Recently Chris has been treating me for a frozen shoulder and this is proving successful. I would not hesitate to recommend Chris to anyone requiring an osteopath. My wife has MS and is treated by Liz and finds
that these treatments alleviate her symptoms.
