Originally from Bristol, I have been based in Surrey for the past 14 years and I have a background in nutrition, marketing and administration and a long held love of all things creative. I started out with baking and decorating cakes in 2012, based on my creative background and love of baking, and rebranded to Kate Sartorius Cake Design in 2015.
KS Cake Design cakes are baked fresh in small batches, hand crafted and tailored to the requirements of each individual client. A great deal of care and attention is taken to ensure all creations look impressive as a centrepiece of edible art and lasting memory of your special occasion, and taste wonderful too!
All cakes are custom designed and created for each customer so there is no set price, however please see below for an approximate guide. Please note square and novelty shaped cakes cakes carry a higher cost and some flavours are subject to a surcharge. The minimum size cake available as a standalone order is 6 and therefore the minimum order amount for an undecorated cake is 80; smaller sizes are only available as part of multiple tier orders.

Kate helped me design a lovely 21st birthday cake for my girlfriend. Her finish and attention to detail was spectacular. Cake tasted amazing, everyone was in awe at the whole thing. Brilliant. Kate made a gorgeous cake for my daughter's 8th birthday. Not only did it look beautiful but it was also delicious. The cake attracted many compliments at my daughter's party, and was a lovely centrepiece. It was so easy to communicate with kate via email and she was really helpful about having it ready a day early for me. Highly recommended!

Kate recently made a birthday cake for my daughter's 11th birthday. I'd sent her a photo of my little girl and our dog and asked if she could add figures resembling them to the cake. Her efforts way surpassed any expectations. The attention to detail is phenomenal, and her work has such charm and originality. Will definitely be using her again.

Kate's cakes are beautifully decorated with colourful, original designs and often personalised for the recipient. Many of her creations have been so intricately done that I could hardly believe they were made of icing. I would definitely recommend her for any special event cake you are planning. Even more importantly, the cakes taste great - I have a dairy allergy and she whipped up some gorgeous dairy-free cupcakes for me that tasted as good as they looked.
