Services
An established family business, founded in the 1930's by Bernard Butterworth, originally as a printing works. As the business progressed and developed his sons Malcolm and Rodney joined their father and moved to larger premises. This gave them the scope to expand into different fields and they were the first to introduce the concept of picture-framing and art restoration to the North Wales area.
Many people mistakingly think that all there is to framing a picture is joining four pieces of wood, but they couldn't be more wrong. Inadequate framing can damage artwork, sometimes irreversibly, so for piece of mind why not come along to the professionals in Llandudno. We have framed watercolours which were presented to Prince Charles and Lady Diana on their Wedding Day and pictures which are in the Duke of Edinborough's private collection.
We specialise in the Fine Art restoration of original watercolours and oil paintings using the latest techniques and solutions. Every single aspect of the restoration process can be carried out depending on how badly damaged the specific artwork is. All of the restoration is carried out on the premises by our expert, who has been restoring artwork for many years.
We have a permanent "Welsh Gallery" section. This displays limited editions and open editions of Llandudno, the North Wales coast and Snowdonia by all of North Wales' most popular artists. We also have over over 300 other framed pictures always in stock offering you the largest choice of artwork in North Wales.

Great place. Lovely helpful staff. Good framing service.
HOWEVER ... get the staff to tell you exactly what the frame material is made from before you order. I got two watercolours framed. I was surprised to find they had been framed in black 'composite' - a plastic-rich material looks like wood from a distance of more than about two feet in the shop. Any closer, and it looks like plastic - because it has a plastic surface.
I thought this was wood when placing the order. I did not want to order plastic or composite.
If you live close by, this can be corrected and replaced at the shop for an
