Services
I went to Sheffield University to study dentistry and qualified in 1985. I then moved down to Hastings to finish my vocational training before heading closer to home to Orpington. The next 8 years saw me working in a practice in Croydon, which gave me invaluable all-round experience of general dentistry.
If you are a new patient, we would like to take this opportunity of welcoming you to this practice. Should you wish to make an appointment please contact reception who will be happy to assist you. It is our policy for each patient to see one dentist on a continuing basis. However, if this is not possible for any reason, suitable alternative arrangements will be made for you to see someone within the practice.
Everyday life takes its toll on our teeth. Drinking too much tea or coffee, smoking or even eating strongly coloured foods can stain and discolour them. There are toothpastes available that will help remove these stains, but they can't change the actual colour of the tooth underneath. The colour of your teeth is determined by your DNA, just like the colour of your hair or your eyes.
The dentist uses your check-up to see how healthy your mouth is, whether you might need some work done and, in the case of children, how the teeth are growing and developing. The dentist will have a good look round inside your mouth, checking the teeth, as well as your tongue, the soft palate, the inside of your cheeks and the roof of your mouth.
