David Smith left school at 16 and immediately started an apprenticeship at F.K.GreenSmiths in Long Eaton. A well-established Upholstery company where quality was paramount. David was taught all aspects of the trade, in particular, Deep- Buttoning, which was one of Greensmiths specialties. In the time that David was there, he completed his City and Guilds certificates in Upholstery and Soft Furnishings.
After 7 years of learning the trade at Greensmiths David was then offered work at Lincoln House Upholstery where he completed another 1 and a half years service. In 1986 David decided to start up his own business, originally from a workshop at home, the business is still continuing to grow 34 years on, David now has his own workshop, showroom and office in Long Eaton.
