Hi, I'm Sima, Director at The Kitchen Table which started back in 2011 with my then co-director Hannah. Cooking for people has always been a big thing for me - it warms hearts, nourishes souls and connects people. Sharing food gives us opportunities to pause, take stock and celebrate all that life has to offer.
We love weddings! We love the creativity of our brides and grooms (brides and brides, grooms and grooms) who create such wonderful celebrations for their loved one, at beautiful venues in the South Devon area. From farm barns to field marquees, to village halls & family gardens; we have been to some amazing places to cater gorgeous gatherings.
We will look after all the catering side of things so you don't need to be distracted from what's important - sharing delicious food in great company. If you're in any doubt - warm, informal events best showcase our capable and friendly style of service. You'll feel so well-looked after you may even forget that you're the host.
In many cultures it is common to feast and share food at the time of a loved ones passing. It is such an honour to be asked to cater the gathering of friends and family celebrating the life and death of someone and we take great care to provide food that reflects the occasion, suited to the venue. If you're planning an event and looking for a caterer who really appreciates what you're into, then we'd love to help.
We can provide meals for your retreat for you to heat on site or to eat cold - as required/ desired. We will deliver a few meals at once, as many times as needed, with full serving and cooking instructions, to meet your clients dietary needs. Our retreat customers love the variety of meals we provide, the simplicity of the service and the added value and enjoyment the food brings to their retreat events.

We LOVE Sima and her team at The Kitchen Table! We got married a few months ago, amidst all the craziness of 2021 (had one date postponed before we could go ahead), and Sima was so helpful and professional through it all. She helped us put together our menu for the big day, her food was INCREDIBLE (all our wedding guests said so), her staff are lovely and Sima is a joy herself! Thanks Sima :-)

Sima, and her wonderful team, catered our wedding in October and it was absolutely phenomenal. Everyone commented on how amazing the food was and that it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. We had an Ottolenghi inspired buffet which Sima created just for us after chatting through what sort of food we liked and it was absolutely perfect. We also had canapés and amazing puddings. They catered for all our dietary needs, including vegans and coeliacs, and served drinks throughout the night. They were attentive and cheery and helped us to have the best day. Highly, highly recommend!

Sima and her amazing team catered for our wedding and were absolutely incredible to work with. Sima worked with us to put together a menu and the food surpassed all hopes and expectations – we’ve been getting comments from people raving about it ever since! And there was loads of it. Sima and her team made sure everything went smoothly and they added so many small finishing touches that really made the day. We’d highly recommend The Kitchen Table.

We are so pleased we chose The Kitchen Table to cater our wedding reception. Sima was incredibly helpful with providing a varied and diverse range of food to cater for all dietary needs, including some truly satisfying vegan options. The food portions were generous and everything is labelled and beautifully presented. Sima and her team at The Kitchen Table have recently catered for our daughter’s wedding and then provided food for a follow up family party.
The whole experience has been excellent. The menu choices were varied and interesting and the food was well presented and delicious. There was plenty to eat and the guests were very happy.
