Services
Instrument Machining Services was founded in 1950 by Mr John Catt (dec); the original premises were in Mint Street, London SE1. The factory was extended during 1989 to allow for expansion. Although they have since retired, IMS is currently still owned by the Hosier Family and overseen by Mr Dean Smith who is the Operations Director.
Key Features are Turn, Mill, Profile, Drill + Drill wire holes & Thread cutting, all of which enable machine complete of many components. The Citizen L20 series has been specialised for high-precision manufacture of complex parts, in medium to large batch sizes. It offers all-round versatility with flexible options and extremely short set-up times.
The Haas ST10 Series high-performance lathe provides setup flexibility, extreme rigidity, and high thermal stability. The ST-15Y is a large-bore Y-axis CNC turning centre with a generous work envelope. The addition of Y-axis and live tooling allows milling, profiling, drilling, thread milling and tapping for increased machine capabilities.
We have a team of highly skilled and qualified inspectors, checking the quality of all the parts that pass through our factory on a daily basis, but in addition to this and always looking to invest in high quality inspection equipment, we recently purchased in a Keyence IM Machine to help with the higher volume parts, it can measure up to 99 dimensions in seconds.
