Our Coffee House serves a wide variety of drinks as well as a menu of breakfasts, lunches and light snacks. Offering a dedicated Children's play area, the Good News Centre has a wide range of children's books and gifts too. The Good News Centre is a Christian bookshop and Coffee House based in the historic town of Newent in Gloucestershire.
The Centre is comprised of an attractive Coffee House and an extensive Christian bookshop. It is a registered charity, directed and staffed by committed Christians representing different churches in the area. In a world often dominated by bad news - our aim is to be a place where the emphasis is placed on Good News.

Services
The Good News Centre grew out of the vision of a few local Christians, who were prepared to put their time and effort into restoring the old Newent Parish rooms, to create a warm and friendly environment for the local community. Today the Coffee House has seating indoors, with the option of outdoor seating in warm weather.
We are a Christian company and believe that this world, troubled as it is by fear, loneliness, violence, greed and hatred, can only be changed as people discover for themselves the life of God through a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. This new life in Christ provides love, truth, justice, freedom, gentleness, joy and peace.
Come into the Bookshop and browse. We have a great selection of Christian books, Bibles, children's books, greetings cards, gifts, CDs, DVDs and much more. Have a look at the latest new books and multimedia titles and take the opportunity to listen to new music releases. We stock many versions of the Bible including, AV, ESV, NIV, NKJV, NLV, NRSV, The Message, the Street Bible and many others.
The Coffee House has proved to be very popular as a meeting place for local people as well as visitors. The large cafe area provides an opportunity to enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, or soft drink. Our homemade cakes are very popular, and there is a good choice of hot and cold snacks available. In the summer months, you have the choice to eat indoors or outside in the colourful courtyard and garden, where children can play safely.
At the Good News Centre, we have a small meeting room that we are pleased to make available to local groups. If you have a church or community group, business meeting or just a group of friends that needs somewhere to get together, we'd love to help. Please call in to find out more, have a look at our meeting room and see when it's available.

I love the Good News Centre Newent, it’s a great place to go after a lovely walk around the lake with my hubby. We can enjoy a cream tea which is fantastic (as I am Gluten Free) they have the best gf Scones I’ve had anywhere. Their Gluten Free Menu seems to have expanded each time we visit it’s great, they really do try hard to cater for… everyone. It’s a great place to go with my grandchildren with the upstairs room with a children’s corner. And of course The Good News Shop where we can buy lovely gifts and meaningful cards for our family and friends.

It is family friendly, and welcoming. The large choice of food and drinks (hot and cold) is exemplary, snacks to main meals like the fish pie. Then there is a crèche facility upstairs with a second-hand library plus toys for the kiddies, oh, and a latch gate at the top of the stairs, so that the children stay safe.
