The owner Ian seems to have 0 people skills. Can't belive someone with his attitude can run a b&b. Paignton is a nice place but avoid this place if possible as there's a good chance it might leave a bad taste on a nice break.

In response to your comment of us being an embarrassment. That’s the rude unprofessional man that you are. 1 member of our group lost his mask. And you flipped your lid. Rather than deal with it professionally. Your the embarrassment.
Just to be clear for anyone looking to stay here. We are a quiet family . My wife and I both hold professional jobs. (My wife works for a Police Force headoffice) my mum works for A&E for the NHS and I have quite a few years of business management for large companies. We are all very polite and courteous and treat people how we want to be treated.

I rarely leave reviews but on this occasion felt utterly compelled to. My elderly parents and aunty visited Sea Spray House at the beginning of July 2021, they were greeted by the owner Ian who spoke to them like school children from the onset. When my 77 year old mam asked Ian to repeat his name as she had forgotten, he replied by asking how could she not remember? It was after all only 3 letters! Ian's manner when saying this was both rude and aggressive. Another occasion of his absolute disgraceful and disrespectful behaviour was when my 80 year old dad had approached Ian for a replacement key

We was made to feel welcome by Ian and Pauline. It was nice to see that Ian and Pauline were still requesting guest to follow the Covid rules. The guest house was in an ideal location. It was very clean and very comfortable. We slept very good in the comfortable bed. Only complaint was we were only there for a week. Hope to be back again.

We booked for 3 nights for £195
After 1 night of no sleep we left in the morning. The bed was noisy and springy, we were kept up all night from the noise of Seagulls it sounded like they were having a rave. The facilities were poor the breakfast room looked like a cafe with a tiny bar no comfortable chairs you were allowed to bring in drinks or food The bar closed at 10pm if it was quiet.
Breakfast was between 7- 8am.
A choice of cereal or juice or only orange juice but not both.
We went out for breakfast.
This place felt less like a hotel and more like boarding house.

Advertised room via booking.com as having a seaview. The room did not have a seaview not even a glimpse the view was of a working building site which was very noisy and we had not been informed of this. We decided not to stay due to the view and noise. I spoke to the owner who said it had not been described as having a seaview and never had and I would not be getting a refund. The owner was very rude and unhelpful did not offer us another room.
