Services
At Abergavenny Chiropractic we are trained to recognise more serious medical conditions when they present, and are able to swiftly refer you on to your general practitioner or other healthcare professional as appropriate. Most clients will not require an X-Ray initially, however, our chiropractor can refer you for X-ray or MRI studies to help confirm a diagnosis if in doubt.
Chiropractic like other physical therapies can be helpful for a good variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Although we specialise in spinal conditions we also regularly come across extremity issues. Chiropractors can give relevant advice on self-help so patients can better manage their own condition, and help prevent it from recurring.
Your initial appointment will last up to an hour and includes a detailed history of your problem as well as an assessment of your general health; a thorough examination, mainly of the problem area; an initial diagnosis and plan of management. This may include a treatment plan, or advice only. You will always get an honest opinion, based on best practice and experience, and be given realistic treatment goals.
Chiropractors really specialise in treating spinal problems similar to osteopaths and work mainly in private practice. There are differences in techniques and approaches between the two professions as there will be between individual chiropractors. Chiropractors and osteopaths are qualified and trained to practice spinal manipulation.
