My boyfriend and I are not local to Nottingham so we were persuaded to visit by the michellin recommendations and trip advisor reviews. Unfortunately our visit was nothing alike. My boyfriend’s order was… completely messed up, the chicken in my tikka masala was bland and rice undercooked. The only enjoyable part of my meal was the sauce, the rest didn’t live up to the hype and we only ate because we were very hungry at the time. We were stunned to find that an “optional” tip was applied on our behalf without consulting with us, and when we went up to pay the bill

MEMSAAB IN NOTTINGHAM
This is really a five star plus restaurant. Elegant settings, nice service, they took care of every little details, checked on how we were enjoying but were never intrusive or abrupt.
The restaurant is run by "memsaab" lovely lady with lots of energy interacting with guests, very pleasant!!
The food was great. We ordered Salmon dish as appetizers, very tasty, with perfect sauce with it.,very tender. The palak paneer was out of this world. Desserts were great
Overall we give full marks for wonderful experience there ,

While visiting Nottingham recently on business, I decided to give this place a try. I recalled this restaurant from a previous visit several years ago, but it now appears to be under new ownership. For a fine dining venue, found the place to be a bit overdecorated and under serviced. First, it took a long time for the waiter to take my order, even after I tried to draw his attention several times. When I did try to order appetizers as starters, I was politely informed that I had to order my entire meal before the starters could be served. Found this to be a bit odd as the place didn't seem

As an American visiting the UK, I was excited to have some of the best Indian food outside India. This place didn't disappoint. The food was spicy, just like I like it, the naan was warm, moist and crunchy all at the same time.
A couple of reasons why I am giving it only 3 stars. 1) Just the night before, I had dinner at another Indian restaurant, right next door - Calcutta Club, and it was better than MemSaab, in my opinion. 2) It was quite pricy - and not sure why. I thought Calcutta Club was better and less expensive.

The food was splendid. I tried the chicken biryani, it was top notch. My brother got the set menu. The portions were large and tasty. The lamb chops were great. The gajar ka halwa was the best dessert. The ambience and decor were really good. The soft Hindi tunes in the background were quite pleasant. The service was outstanding. One should really give this place a try.

MemSaab is a superb fine dining venue. Located in Nottingham town centre, the restaurant is a real gem, superbly appointed and is huge! I have dined here several times during business trips and generally visit on quieter nights but I am certain that when near capacity, the atmosphere would be great.
The menu is varied and with each visit I have tasted different dishes. ALL have been excellent quality and with eye catching presentations. The Pistachio Kulfi is a great way to end a meal. There is an Extensive beverage menu with some interesting and rarely seen options. The staff are attentive and

If you are looking for good Indian food in Nottingham, this is the place to come. I travel to Nottingham a few time a year for work, and always make at least on stop at MemSaab.
The service it top notch, and all the dishes I have tried are fantastic. My top 3 recommendations: Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Tikka Masala.

An Indian resturant a step above the norm, and famous for Chris Tarrant being arrested for throwing a fork or spoon at an irritating nearby diner..... and also winning Best Indian food in Nottingham for 3 years running.
The food is very good with complex spicy tastes that overlap and follow each other, the portions are pretty big ,especially the 'platters', so don't overorder, keep it coming as you need it. My tandoori platter was superb, and a fellow diner's tandoori King read GINORMOUSprawns was immense, and incredibly tasty.

What I believe to be Nottingham's premier curry house. Close enough to the city centre for pre- and post- drinks, but not on the square, and so avoids the asbo's and hood wearers.
The menu always throws out something new. They have an extensive list of curries from different regions of India, and each is served elegantly. This isn't a three o'clock in the morning curry house. This should be the focus of the evening.
Fine dining - excellent service - I'd recommend this one to anyone.
The only downside would be that towards Christmas there tend to be a number of corporate

Mem Saab is a fabulous Indian restaurant located on Maid Marian Way in Nottingham's city centre.
The winner of Best Indian in the Nottingham Restaurant awards for the past three years, the restaurant has a lot to live up to and it never fails to rise to the challenge.
The food is authentic and there is a wide range of dishes to choose from, many of which you would not have heard of from your local curry house. The place caters for all tastes and there is a special section for vegetarians containing appealing items, which is always nice to see.
