The Lochindaal Hotel in Port Charlotte is one of Islay's most traditional hotels. It is a family run establishment, having been in the MacLellan family for well over 100 years. Iain and Katie and their 5 children are the latest generation of MacLellans to have the privilege of running this lovely old pub.
Over the years the pub has played host to many characters; friendly locals, holidaying visitors and many a famous face. They all leave with a tale to tell about an evening at 'The Lochindaal'. The hotel also boasts an impressive collection of rare and unusual Islay and other malt whiskies which can be viewed from both bars.

Services
The hotel has five letting rooms finished to a high standard. We also offer a corporate set price for VAT registered businesses (100 per person) per night for 2 course dinner, en-suite single occupancy king bed and cooked breakfast. Two ensuite rooms are situated to the rear of the main hotel building in the Peat House (2 king size rooms), they are a short walk to the main hotel via a couple of steps.
Where possible our ingredients are locally sourced and this is always true of the seafood. This arrives fresh off the local fishing boats in the afternoon to be cooked that very evening. This is our signature dish and can either be served freshly cooked on a large Seafood Platter or cooked to your individual specifications.
The Isle of Islay (pronounced "eye-la") is famous for its abundance of wildlife, beautiful scenery and several working whisky distilleries (which may be toured by appointment). There are many golden sandy beaches which rarely ever have more than a couple of people on them at any one time - ideal for getting away from it all.
