This store is currently undergoing a big change. Most of the store is lost in new stock & boxes. It's clear to see they are trying really hard to display new items but the public keep purchasing hahahaha which includes me ðŸ¤. Covid possibly forced them to rethink whilst they were forced to close! - I've enquired about a couple of items & the response from Daryl has been punctual and helpful. Their new Mackenzie child items are stunning!
I cannot wait for them to reopen properly, to stroll around this beautiful shop and peruse whilst making a wishlist! 😃

Very interesting place, with interesting stuff, with interesting people. Good customer service. Lovely staff. I'm not from Derby, I'm from Leicester. I will recommend this to anyone, and will be passing on Friargate Antiques details, to people I know who collect Antiques Ect...

The other Saturday we called in at Friargate antiques on the off chance of picking up and buying some old coins that we needed in order to test a coin operated mechanism on a 1960's Jukebox.
The owners stopped what they were doing and emptied bags of coins out putting together a range of English and American coins from the past.
When we asked how much do we owe, the reply was "nothing, hope you are able to work out which coins you need for the jukebox and we are happy to help"
It's not often you see or experience simple acts of kindness these days, well this experience made our weekend!

I went to Friargate Antiques to in search of a box in which to present a special gift, but due to my own miscalculations arrived just as they had closed. Despite this, the owners kindly let me in and went out of their way to help me find exactly what I needed, for which I am extremely grateful.
Aside from the excellent service, the shop was a brilliant treasure trove and had I arrived earlier in the day I would have spent ages exploring!
