Services
After a successful career in textile design I missed being artistic after having my two daughters. I always had a love for cooking (passed down from my dad and grandma) therefore I decided that my passion for baking & design could be combined. Launching Poppy Pickering Cake Design has allowed me to still be creative and to realise my dream of baking & creating beautiful bespoke cakes for weddings and special celebrations.
All of the cakes at Poppy Pickering Cake Design are freshly made to order. I believe that my cakes should not just look beautiful but taste delicious too therefore I only use the freshest and finest ingredients. All the preserves used are made by Rosebud Preserves based in Masham and I use local free range eggs, local dairy produce, real butter, Madagascan bourbon vanilla and Belgium cocoa & chocolate.
Your wedding day is one of the most important & special days in your life. Here at Poppy Pickering Cake Design, creating the most exquisite wedding cake with the best possible service is of the utmost importance to me. If your wedding plans have changed and you are having a smaller reception or wish for a cake just for a close family gathering I offer various sized smaller wedding cake options.

When we started planning our wedding I knew I wanted Dominique from Poppy Pickering to make our wedding cake. I loved her timeless yet modern style. Dominique delivered a service and cake that exceeded all expectations. From the initial tasting/design meeting to delivery her customer service is fast and friendly. Dominique's service was exceptional, she is so kind and her passion shines through from start to finish.
Our cake was beautiful and tasted amazing! Our guests were shocked that the flowers were made of icing because they are so detailed and realistic. Dominique didn't miss a single detail and I genuinely couldn't recommend Poppy Pickering more!!!

Absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. Dominique is so professional, knowledgeable & talented. I have never seen cakes / treats like it in my life and I don’t think I will ever see better to be honest. She’s by far the best of her trade and just WOW.

Dominique was quite simply amazing from start to finish, we had a five tier work of art, to describe it as a cake wouldn’t do it justice ! Covered in picture perfect sugar flowers with a stunning hand cut geometric icing design on the bottom tier. All of our guest were in awe of the cake and have since told us how nice it was too!
We had three different flavours all of which were absolutely delicious! We also had the macaroons as favours hand painted with a pretty little flower design too, much like the cake they were flawless and delicious

Dominique was absolutely incredible to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her and her beautiful cakes to anyone planning a wedding or a special event.

Dominique at Poppy Pickering designed and made our beautiful 4 tier wedding cake. It was absolutely stunning and so many of our guests commented on not only how gorgeous it looked but also how delicious it was! We had 4 different flavours and each one was unbelievably delicious.
Dominique was amazing throughout and is such a lovely person. She was quick to respond to queries, gave great advice about the cake design and nothing was too much trouble for her. She liaised with our florist to decorate our cake with fresh flowers and foliage and we were beyond happy with how it turned out.

Dominique was an absolute lifesaver. 1 and a half weeks before my wedding, my original cake supplier fell through and I was in need of a wedding cake. In such a small time frame Dominique was accommodating to my request and created a cake for our day that exceeded all expectations, it was even more spectacular than we had hoped. The sugar flowers were a work of art and fit perfectly with our lemon yellow colour scheme. We had several compliments from our guests and the cake was truly a piece of art (and tasted amazing!). Thank you so much again. Would highly recommend!!!
