Services
Practical Bookkeeping, Accounting & Taxation Services (PBATS) was formed by brother & sister Martin Beales & Rebecca Wisbey, merging their companies in 2019. Martin & Rebecca have over 36 years of experience between them working in bookkeeping, accounts and tax, so you can take care of business and let us take care of the books!
At PBATS, we offer a huge range of services. You're free to pick and choose which services you need to create the accounting package that suits you. BookkeepingWe provide Bookkeeping services ranging from checking your work to taking your receipts and invoices and turning them into a lovely shiny set of books.
Being such a fundamental part, it's important to get it right. Not just the actual books themselves, but the price you pay too. We work with our clients to balance between what they need us to do and what they can afford, so if you're just starting out and have the time to do your books but just want some guidance and someone to check over it, we can do that!
If you're a sole trader without employees you probably won't need the level of service offered by our bookkeeping and accounting pages but don't worry, we have some packages designed specifically with you in mind! You'll process your daily income and expenses, manage your mileage, etc, then we'll check over your work.
It's often the word used to describe the whole process, from entering your receipts to filing Tax Returns for you and your company, however for us it's the part of the process where everything recorded for the year, invoices, receipts, VAT returns et all, are checked to see they're all in the right place, that everything that should be there is and that anything missing is found.

I would definitely recommend Martin and his team at PBATS. We were looking for a new, more helpful and available accountant and were recommended PBATS by another business. From the off, Martin and his team have been so accommodating, efficient and reliable, going out of their way to assist us in running our business more proficiently. Over the past few years our business has moved at a real pace and grown YOY. We have undertaken activities such as an equity raise, government investment via a fund (twice) and setting up other tax related vehicles for our investors. This is on top of the usual day to day accounting and forecasting that goes with running a business. Martin and his team have been pivotal in a lot of what we have done. Not just acting as an accountant with limited touch points to our business but more of a hands on function within our company to allow us to grow and focus on our core jobs. Without their help there

Highly recommended, Martin has been my accountant for over three years and has made something that was previously stressful for me so straight forward, my other half moved his business over to the company after being with his past accountant for many years after seeing how efficient they are here.
