Planning a Funeral for a loved one can be one of the hardest things you will do. In a time of grief, it can be difficult to focus on planning and arranging a Funeral. With William Mitchell, you can be reassured that we will be on hand to provide you with all the support that you need. At William Mitchell Funeral Directors, we try to bring you some solace by taking care of the details and proceedings.
Once we have been contacted, our Funeral Directors will arrange to meet with you to discuss the funeral requirements. Arrangements can be made at home or, if you would prefer, you are welcome to call into our office in Aldridge. At this time, your preferences for the Funeral will be discussed, including day and time of the service, flowers, newspaper notices, choice of coffin, etc.
A wake, or Post-Funeral gathering, is the ideal time to reflect on the deceased's life and to catch up with family and friends to look back on old times. From simple refreshments following the Funeral, to alternative catering venues, William Mitchell can assist with all elements of your wake. William Mitchell work closely with a number of local venues, whom we can contact on your behalf.
A memorial or Headstone is often a place of comfort for grieving relatives to gather and reflect on the times they shared. It can act as a focal point for grief and can help with the healing process. There are many options available for you to choose. Memorials can range from traditional gravestones to monuments, both religious or personal.
A Direct Cremation without a ceremony is known as a Direct Cremation. It is specifically used for those who would prefer a simpler choice Funeral, or do not wish to hold a Funeral for their loved one's in the traditional sense. The main difference between this and a traditional Funeral is that there is no Funeral Service and no one present at the cremation.

William Mitchell Funeral Directors were recommended to us and they didn’t disappoint. From the first time we contacted them to organise Dad’s funeral, Donna and Alf took over and were professional, caring, understanding and compassionate. They took all the stress and worry away from the family leaving us free to deal with our grief. We chose William Mitchell based on the reviews I had read. We are so glad we did. My daughter and I were floundering following the death of her dad, my husband, but the support offered by Donna and Alf was excellent. They took us step by step through everything and if I forgot something, for example getting pictures in to them, there would be a gentle reminder. It is a hugely stressful and emotional time saying goodbye to a loved one. We were overwhelmed with grief but Donna and Alf were a warm hug through it all. Thank you for your professionalism, your compassion and the beautiful way in which you dealt with our family at a very difficult time. Nothing was too much trouble. Our Hindu traditions were understood and observed and everything managed with a calm dignity. Can't praise these people enough, when you are at your lowest they go above and beyond to help you. We had our mom's funeral last Friday and were guided all the way by Alf and Donna. Donna and Alf gave us great support and are such genuine people from the moment we contacted them. The chapel of rest was arranged so beautifully and gave us great comfort, nothing was not too much trouble for Donna and Alf.
My Dad's funeral was perfect and that is because they are so professional and respectful. Many people at the funeral commented on how professional all the staff were. Thank you to all staff involved the family got great comfort from the send off we gave our lovely Dad. Donna also cared for my Mom getting in out the car, she is such a caring and friendly person.
