Lakeland Equestrian Stud Farm is a small family run stud situated in the heart of the Lake District. The Stud is a fairly new business founded in 2010, developed with a passion for breeding top quality sport horses, using both mares and stallions that are from proven backgrounds. At Lakeland Equestrian, using advanced AI techniques available to sport horses, we choose from the very best Sports Horses worldwide.
Our horses are securely, safely and comfortably housed in a newly built stable complex - with access to state of the art training facilities including horse walkers, a full sized show jumping arena, cross country course and the exceptional natural facilities on our doorstep. With the Owners living on site, 24hr professional care for the wellbeing and security of the horses is covered.
Lakeland Equestrian Stud Farm have invested a lot of time and money insuring that we offer nothing less than the very best of care and facilities for mother and foal. Our team at Lakeland Equestrian Stud have been fully trained and qualified for the foaling and care of both mare and foal following birth although experience is the greatest gift which we are getting all the time.
Lakeland Equestrian has the facilities to offer a high standard of care in a sterile environment for operational procedures. The yard has been recommended on a number of occasions when horses have needed operations or special care but do not have suitable facilities at their own premises.
The large boxes used are completely sterilized with full rubber matting, making it a safe environment, large enough for vets to work comfortably and with good lighting.24hr supervision is carried out to monitor the horses closely by Matthew and Faye living on site only 5yrds from the stables. The boxes have CCTV which the owners can link into and watch their horse's recovery.

Lakeland Equestrian stud work with horses of all ages providing training and instruction that instils the vital attributes required to properly prepare horses for their futures in both work and play. We specialise in preparing horses for competition although we can help all horses overcome unwanted behavioural issues for example promoting happiness while being handled, tied up, transported and treated by a vet or farrier.
